Is anyone playing in the Atlanta Open next week?

I was going to but I have a Calcutta I have to play in this weekend in Alabama. Couldn't justify all the traveling to make the open happen. It's being played way up north at Chatahoochee Golf Course. When did the metro area of Atlanta incorporate the entire state of Georgia?

From a price standpoint, afternoonish should be a bit cheaper. That being said, I will play whenever. Start this the first weekend of July (7-8th)? That should give enough time to see who is actually interested and maybe have someone in charge of setting up the tee time/posting when the tee time is so we can book our own time?

i'm up to play this weekend if we can get 6-8 people. or just a foursome for that matter. probably won't be able to do a dogfight with 4, but we can come up with something. everyone has pretty much reported their respective hdcps, so we should be alright to put a little money out there. sunday afternoon works for me, i think i have some stuff going on saturday. i played crystal lake last week, it's in good shape. wolf creek is also in good shape. y'all throw out some ideas.

10:54 sunday at crystal lake is on golfnow for $29, you can't do much better than that.

Anyone looking to get out on Sunday? I have kid stuff on Satuday but would like to get out. Dont care where, I know we can get on at a reasonable hour at Wolf Creek for Crystal lakes.

I'm pretty booked for the coming weekends. The weekend of the 30th is open, and then I'm going to be in NC after the 4th, and then Sea Island the 13th.

After that, I'm game to play a round around town. Coweta Club is in awesome shape, and they run deals sometimes.. Without a deal, it's only $40 or so I think. Played it a few weeks back and it was in nice shape.

i'm interested in getting a course review/condition thread going for the atlanta area. there are so many courses and it's hard to find dependable, current information regarding design, playability, condition, etc. i'll start the thread in a little bit, just thought i'd post a heads up here since this thread gets a lot of views.

jdg2494 - didn't you post something about a 6:27 tee time...how was that? i only get up that early to catch planes.

i'm planning on playing later this week (7/6 - 7/8) if anyone is interested let me know.

Shot a 69 on Saturday at Bradshaw Farms.....teed off at 6:15 am.........went out today, same course, 7:00 am, shot a 76......guess I need less sleep.

Bradshaw is in great shape......Bridgemill is close to perfect.....been playing both of those the most the past few months.

6:15...wow. I dont think I would have been able to wake early enough for that one living in Smyrna. You probably got around pretty quick.

I played at the Manor with my CFO, we tee'ed off at 8:30 on Sunday...I think Ilost 10 pounds. Shot 79 and easily left 8 shots on the course. I have learned my brain does not function at temps above 100.

solid 2 days for a 7 handicap. not sure i want to do much gambling with you man, if you aren't happy with a 76.

Well with the latest revision it is now 3.5...........so maybe 7 was a little high. I have also played Brashaw Farms about 200 times, I could play the course without yardages on any shots and still break 85 so don't let the score fool you.....I still suck.

Played Wolf Creek on Sunday and Mystery Valley on Monday. Both were in great shape with Mystery Valley being in fantastic shape for a county owned course. My ONLY gripe with Mystery Valley is that the workers have NO etiquette. They will continue to mow or water or whatever else like you aren't on a tee box or green. I've run into this same issue at Chicopee Woods in Gainesville, which is also in fantastic shape but county owned. I guess they realize that if you complain it will go to the county or city or whomever and nothing will happen so oh well.
