Sunscreen...what do you use?

My wife has been riding me to use sunscreen for years. I wear a hat but I have had a problem with sunscreen because I sweat a lot. Does anyone else out there sweat a lot find a sunscreen that works?

Mosquito Coast by Bull Frog...it has sunblock and bug repellent. I am not sure how it stands up to sweating but it is in a spray bottle so it does not get all over your hands...my 2 cents

I do not use the bug spray/sunscreen combo, but the spay on sunscreen is great. I sweat quite a bit, and I apply it before the round and at the turn without any problems. It does not have the usual greasy feeling you get from sunscreen. The spray bottle make it easy to apply and you do not get much on your hands.

The only sunscreen I can stand is Coppertone Sport 30. It goes on very, very non greasy, and tends to last quite a while. I've tried many others, but this is the only one I can tolerate.

I use Coppertone Sport. I use the spray on kind and I haven't had any problems with sweating and it not covering. I tend to sweat a lot and don't have many problems at all. I also love the spray as it goes on very easy.

I used to HATE suncreen with a passion, I hated the sticky oily feeling they always had.

 

Since I've started using Neutrogena's Ultra Sheer Dry Touch sunblock, I wear sunscreen every day. Rub and sweat resistant, blocks UVA/UVB, great protection, and it dries without any greasy, sticky, or oily feeling. Even if you put it on with your hands, it won't reduce your grip or rub off. It's a little expensive at $8 a tube, but sunscreen's only effective if you wear it.

 

 

Whatever brand you choose, don't waste your money for any SPF higher than 35, reapply every 2 hours, and make sure your initial application has at least 15 minutes to start working before you get out in the sun.

I use Coppertone Sport SPF 30 spray. A quick hint the pump spray is a much better deal, you will get plenty more uses over the aerosol type. I learned the hard way.

Someone mentioned Bullfrog (spray). I recommend you getting that because it has the all important compound called "titanium dioxide". That's the important ingredient in terms of keeping your skin, cancer and wrinkle free.

 

Non Grease coppertone is good but if you want to look 50 at age 30, go for it.

I live in a sunny Thailand and I'm a very sweaty guy. So u could trust me in this case.

 

I use SOLTAN for Kids SPF 50+ from boots.

 

It smells good and doesnt bother u with the sticky feeling, but it stays on your skin for a long time even against your sweat.

Urban myth. The difference between Titanium and Zinc Dioxides and products like avobenzone and oxybenzone is that the Ti and Zn compounds reflect UV light and are classified as physical blockers while the benzone compounds are absorbative compounds.

 

Physical blockers have a slim advantage of having instantaneous action, while the absorbative blockers require 15-30 minutes before acting. If you apply an absorbative blocker in the car before your round and reapply every 2 hours you will be skin cancer free in either case. If you truly want to be cancer free, remember to keep as much of your body covered as possible, long sleeves, pant legs, and a bucket hat. No sunscreen or block will work as well as a piece of clothing, a golfers tan is proof enough of that.

I have very fair skin and do a lot of surfing. I have taken trips to tropical locations where I needed the best protection. The best sunblock is called Headhunter. It does not come off in water or because you are sweating and lasts for hours. YOu can find it at surf shops.

I sweat more than anyone I know. Copperton Sport works amazingly for me. I even got a big bottle that came with a small 1-oz hard tube that clips to your golf bag.

Check out KINeSYS sunscreen. This is very ligth spray. Totally sweatproff. Avialable in scented or unscented versions.

I never really use sun screen. I really have never had a problem with getting burnt, will probably pay for it in the years to come though.

Just because you dont get burnt doesnt exclude you from skin cancer. An $8 investment is a drop in the bucket to the future medical treatment is worth it.

Another tip that I figured out the hard way...sunscreen goes bad with time. I have now made it a habit to take out whatever was left in my bag at the end of last season and replace it with new in the spring. FWIW I have used both the Coppertone Spray and Bullfrog with good results. I burn like crazy so I go through a lot of sunscreen.

Coppertone Sport lotion here in SPF 30 for sunny days, 15 for cloudy ones. My dad told me he got one of the worst sunburns he ever had on a cloudy day.
