What is the best forged irons in golf?
[/quote]

Miura gets my vote as well.

I have hit MC102, CB501, 202 and Blade. I am not that good and I can't play all that frequently, but I can hit all the irons pretty well.
When you hit flush, the feeling is out of this world.

I used to game Mizuno MP58 and in IMHO, Miura is better.
If you are into JDM equipment, you should most definitely check out Miura. You just can't go wrong with Miura.

As far as forgiveness goes, MC102 and CB202/501 are very similar.

I game mp63 with kbs tour x, however, waiting for my yonex ezone blades with kbs ctaper s+ to arrive tomorrow....pictures look amazing and
the builder says that they are stunning and of extremely topshelf quality...I'm thinking these, too, could be included in the conversation.

Will advise after I had some alone time with them. :)

i just saw a japan version of the mizuno jpx 800 pro except it has the word "forged" instead of "pro" on the back and it really looked great...

it's a pity that unless you live in japan you will probably never see a complete line of all their forged irons offerings...

i venture to say that although the answers are all very subjective, you may find "your" right answer in japan....

Update 20110912:
Well I went to a local field at lunch and hit a dozen with my 6 iron and its a lower more penetrating flight as expected...much different feel than my mp63s and a center strike is just as amazing, however, I do like the looks much more so. I will have to hit more to get a better understanding and look forward to it.

These irons are just gorgeous! Thanks to [email protected] who went the extra mile for me and will be seeing more of my business!!!

You guys that see a thread like this that come in with your comments of..."this again...search function disabled?...etc...etc.. you make me....laugh.

You can see the jist of the thread in the title, but you still feel compelled to come into the thread and waste your time and anyone else's time that reads your posts.

Why bother? It serves no purpose and accomplishes....well.....nothing.

Ok...enough of the soap box.

My vote is Miura !

Best I have hit are the Epon AF Tours.

Same here. I play the EPON AF-Tour irons with KBS Tour shafts and could not be more satisfied with the performance and feel of these forged blades! (cool)

when you ask for the "best" it will invariably come at a high price so be prepared.....

.....or else you're just asking for the best you--or the majority-- can afford and that's a totally new ball game!

To those that have owned Epon irons and Callaway Endo forged irons, how do they compare? I have Epon wedges which are outstanding, and I also own X-Forged Callaways (used to own X-Prototypes). I have never owned or hit Epon irons.

I understand that Epons are forged at Endo's Japan facility, while I believe X-Forged, X-Prototype are forged in Endo's Thailand facility, but it seems that in terms of quality/feel, Epons should not necessarily be much, if any, better feeling than the forgings for Callaway. And yes, I do appreciate that it is not just the type of steel that impacts feel, it is also head design, shaft, etc. But it is not like Callaway's designs are somehow inferior to Epon. I would think Callaway's club design department would rival any other manufacturer's design department in that regard.

I wonder if price/exclusivity taints a golfer's impressions about feel, namely, that Epon is somehow superior to Endo-forged Callaways? And by the way, this is NOT a knock on Epon (note again I own and love my Epon wedges). Just curious why Epon irons are mentioned here so often, but no mention of irons that Endo forges for other OEM's (not just Callaway, but Nike, Cobra, etc.).

Amazing to me how few people I see with Epons on the golf course, let alone people who've heard of the irons. I know price is an issue, but not so much more than Miuras or some others out there.

Potuna: right, but my question is why have more ppl not heard of the best irons out there. Golfers are so passionate about the game and their equipment, you would think they would be more aware. Kinda like a car nut not knowing about Ferarris or, Lambos and only thinking Chevy and Ford.

...aside maybe for bridgestone/tourstage and srixon the japanese do not promote their golf equipment in the USA--perhaps because it is not their target market..

over here in asia we've known about most of those brands for a long time...specially honma which has had a strong presence in my country since the late 60's..

Money. No one can touch the marketing budget and tee up money of Taylor Made and so on. People don't know about it because they are not on TV, in Golf Digest, or being played on tour.

The market says that you are wrong.

I'd guess that only a small percentage of recreational golfers care as much about equipment as Golfwrxers do. The pros are certainly NOT passionate about it - they'll play a combination of what makes them win, and what pays.

So let me see if I've got this right...pros and amateurs in your view are not passionate about golf??

Quick question: are you from Pluto :black eye:

I have played most out there(Miura 501,202, Epon 301, Vega T50's, ect...) and at the beginning of the season I got ahold of some yonex nano V nextage forged. UNREAL irons. Best I have ever played and they are still in the bag(longest a set has made it in a long time).. If you can find them, give them a try!!
