Bradshaw Farm in Atlanta

Red or Blue?

Has anyone played either of these courses lately? Or do you have other suggestions for a solid course north of Atlanta. I played St. Marlo last weekend and I thought it was a decent track. The greens were in good shape considering they are bent grass. No real bad spots other than around the perimeter of a few of the greens.

I'm not too picky as far as design, but bad greens pretty much ruin the course for me. Let me know if you have any recommendations. Thanks.

Personally, I do not like Bradshaw Farms. The holes just do not fit my eye or game. If you are looking for courses on the northwest side near I-575, my two recommendations would be BridgeMill and Woodmont.

I have played Bradshaw many times (although not of late). It is a pretty fun course and has 3 9 holes (red/white/blue). Red to me is the side that requires you to shape the ball more; Blue can let you go low if you are hitting the ball well; White is pretty straight forward hit it long and take short iron in. The greens are usually decent and tend to run anywhere from about a 8.5-10.5 but again, I haven't played it in months so I don't know how they are currently.

As others have said, Bridgemill is a very fun golf course as is Towne Lake Hills and both usually have good greens. Woodmont is alright, but not a huge fan.

Thanks for the responses guys. Like I said, I'm not too picky as far as design goes just like the greens to be in decent shape. I've played Woodmont, but I'll probably try out BridgeMill, Towne Lake Hills, and Bradshaw as well. Thanks again.

The 18th hole at Towne Lake kills it for me. Bradshaw is a good track, all 3 9's are about the same. Are you looking only at courses in that area?

I don't know how far North of ATL you wanna go but Barnsley Gardens (Adairsville) is so worth the trip.

I think Woodmont is way better than Bradshaw farm in terms of green/ pace of play/ architecture. I would check the club house about aerification schedule though. From my experience, Woodmont, Hampton, Chestatee, Echelon, and Chau tu Alan are the great in North of Atlanta.

It was TERRIBLE for years, but Cobblestone in Acworth is in great shape now. They put in Champions Bermuda greens a little over a year ago. Always been an awesome layout...now finally in great shape again.

I'd say go there.

Only drawback is the long round times...it is 100% public...
