Snow flurries this afternoon. Have to be outside for a lax game at 530. Good night for a Bourbon County, founders imperial stout, and founders breakfast stout.

Nice it sold out in a couple hours here. I missed the last bottle at whole foods by 10 min, but I got a lead on the Firestone Event.
That event I went to had a 1 bottle limit, thankfully they let us buy 1 bottle of each the Parabola and Sucaba. I think there were 24 bottles of Parabola 6 Sucaba and 18 of us at the event so only 6 Parabolas made it to retail.

Out of curiosity what where they charging? We had to buy a 4 pack of FW main line beers so a 4 pack of double jack the parabola and sucaba was $49

Paid 24.95, pissed off cuz I heard it being as low at 16. It was either that or keep trying to track it down or wait for a shipment to roll in- that'd be gone in a hour!

Went to a local brewery last night for the first time and was really impressed. Most of the local stuff here is lacking but these guys had a great porter, stout, and an imperial amber that I really enjoyed. He's tapping his DIPA for the first time on Thursday. Hope it's good!

I enjoyed a dark horse plead the 5th stout while watching Sparty pull out a huge win in OT. Made my drive home amidst the snow flurries a little more bearable. Good times!

Yeah that is a bit of a gouge, sucks that they did that. One of the cool things about FW is they keep the prices of their limited release stuff somewhat reasonable.

That trade has Connecticut written all over it :) I haven't had the Unorthodox or the Palate Mallet but I hear they're good. The other two I currently have in the fridge now! You guys get Maui Big Swell in VA? The only distributor they have east of the west coast is in the DC area, that's why I was wondering.

I haven't seen anything from Maui brewing. I'm on the other side of the state from DC so I doubt it would get down this far. I will be up in Richmond this summer and will look for it there.

Goose Island Burbon County Stout and or Barleywine
3floyds Zombie Dust
HeadyTopper
Or any other really good stuff that does not make its way west, Barrel aged Barleywine, Stouts, Strong Ales, or IPA/DIPA that lean less to the piney flavor and more towards caramel and malt

Indeed it does swats ;). Pallet mallet is starting to surface alot more. The unorthodox is great. Good malt and a butbhoppy. Got a bottle aging from August or so of last year.

I may be able to get you some goose island stuff. Idk about the Burbon but I think there's some Barleywine around. Allagash from Maine has some great Barleywine aswell.

Good beer from a good guy. First trade went well. I think I made out better. There was 3 more but I got into those last night haha! We need a BST for beer.

Captain Obvious left a message on my phone and said that I did a trade with Drive4sho for those that didn't already figure that out. HAHA we both have really enjoyed the stuff we received. I actually sent a couple of his selections for me to my brother in law in Ohio who is sending Zombie Dust in return, to which I will send that back to D4S in CT so the cycle will repeat itself with other good beverages exchanging hands. This is more fun than swapping golf clubs!

I had a Palate Mallet last night and it was tasty.

 

Looking forward to trying the Unorthodox. I had the fortune of trying Foothills Brewing Sexual Chocolate a few weeks ago and I'm looking forward to comparing.

I agree. It is more fun. I can hit whatever clubs I want for the most part. Good beer can be tough to find.
