Avery Maharaja one of my favorite DIPA's finally hit shelves here, thoroughly enjoyed one tonight

I added a few extra items to the groceries tonight... also polished off the last of my Founders Black Rye, another solid beer, in time for the new season...

I need to find a way to combine a Michigan golf trip with a couple brewery tours. It won't be hard given the abundance of both, but it'll be more an issue of too many places, too little time and money.

You can come along with us in 2020. Sure, it's a wait, but you've got time to save up big time. VT @ Michigan in the big house, Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits, and maybe even a game at Wrigley on the way around the Lake. Plus several other days for golf/beer.

Take the car ferry across the lake from Ludington. Can kill the 4 hours with some beers from Founders and Odd side ales you picked up on the way there.

Black Tuesday lotto opened today. Hopefully my girlfriend and I both get drawn. Will be a nice thanksgiving in nor cal if so

Cracked this open after storing it since the winter. Really good stuff - so smooth, rich, and with the right amount of that bourbon-tinged taste. I'd say it's a much more refined Dragons Milk.

 

 

I know, I need to improve on my glass game, but to be fair, I'm at the in-laws and that's all there was other than wine glasses.

Hmm that sixer of Bells Expedition was bottled 10/23/14 so conveniently aged a year by total wine. I can see why this beer gets great comments that it will age well for long periods of time. It is a bit bitter even after a year. I bet it is fantastic and smoother this time next year. Overall really good for an easy to find stout ala ten fidy etc. 10.5%

Nice haul. I'm a big fan of the Dragon's Milk. There are better barrel aged beers out there, but I love its price and availability.

I'll be at Disney World next week and had a few Florida breweries that I wanted to sample some beer from. Cigar City and Funky Buddha come to mind for me. Any others I need to be on the lookout for?

My local store just set out a bunch of 2008 Avery samael and 2013 Mephistopheles , picked a few up and drank the samael last night and damn was it good!!!! Really sweet in a Carmel kind of way, which is exactly what I dig in English barley wines, especially if it's 16-%

Cycle is very good but I don't they distribute much if at all. I have had some good things from Due South also.

Was just in Salt Lake City and had a few local brews on tap. Uinta's Session IPA, Moab's IPA, and Red Rock Oatmeal Stout. I really like the oatmeal stout. Not the most malty or tastiest, but very smooth and enough flavor to enjoy.

Love uinta. Utah beer laws suck though. Annoyances aside it's maybe the most beautiful state in the country if you get to see the entire place.

I had a Central Waters Bourbon Barrel Stout last night at the Hilltop in Stevens Point. I've never had another brbn brl stout, so nothing to compare it to, but holy sh1t was that good.

Played 36 with ForeLife today first coolish weather day we've had in a while, even had to bust out the long pants. Brought along a Prairie Bomb! for him to try out.

 

Beer is legitimately great, so many flavors all blended well so nothing is overpowering and 13.5%

 

On the way home picked up a couple of those 2008 Avery Samaels, a Rochefort 10 (great quad) will prob be even better with age too. and a bourbon barrel Narwhal

That beer was so damn good, just crazy flavors happening, like they all come through in different layers, none of them overpowering. So good, thanks for the treat!

Flavors of the week. Nothing overly special, simply solid, great tasting IPAs. To me, Two Hearted is sort of a classic though.

Oh and I realize that the Centennial is highly rated by many, I've just never had it. I'm still new to IPAs in general, so I'm making my way down the list slowly.
