So I Want To Get A Combo Set of Irons

With your swing put the MBs in the scoring irons, this will help you controlling the flight and bring the trajectory down. Plus it looks sweet. If you want more forgiveness, use the CBs all the way through. What shaft?

 

Yea, I have to figure out which direction to go. The blades have a less offset than the 501's so I want to see how that would flow into the cb's. l Still have to do some more testing with the shafts and want to hit the Monaco as you suggested. I can always put the steelfibers back in too.

Mb's for scoring clubs b/c mb's are better at distance control. As I posted earilier, I like cb's in my long irons and into the mid irons and usually go to mb's at 6 or 7i, but that is just me. Oh, very nice choice of clubs; the 501's and the mb's are sweet irons, I think you will really like them. What shafts?

Still undecided on shafts. I have a full set of Aerotech's already that I got to help with bad elbow pain but I am going to try a few others such as the Monaco, C-Taper and Super Peening.

Went to Pure Impact this morning and the selection is the steelfiber 110's I already have. They perform as good as anything when I do my part. I am looking forward to getting these put together!!

Combo set? AP1 long irons and AP2 short irons. Either steel or Steelfiber shafts.

If Ben Curtis is playing a whole set of AP1's, why would a 5 hdc think of playing muscle back irons? Unless that 5 has a ton more ss than Ben.

Yea, about 30 minutes. I was there again this morning and the irons are set for the upcoming season. It is going to be 4-7 CB-501's and 8-PW Tournament Blades with the Aerotech 110's stiff. I am re-doing quite a bit of my bag so it is now on to wedges, driver and possible 4 wood

As for the head size, all MB heads are tiny. I used to game Nike TW blades and they were hard to hit (of course unless you have the skill to hit on the sweet spot every time) since they are so tiny. I ended up buying B-stone j38 cuz it offered top forging quality in larger heads.
On your question on the size... I would say

TM MB > MP 59 / MP 68 > Nike VR Pro / Titty 712MB / MP-53

I would be interested to know where Cobra S3 Pro stands on this.

Cleveland 588 can be ordered as a combo set of CB and MB. Haven't had the chance to try them yet but they look good and those that have tried them tend to rave about them (especially the CB).
