So are you going crazy waiting for Spring to come here in Pittsburgh?
Yeah, and these 50 degree days in the middle of February aren't helping!

They aren't cheap, but I'm hoping I feel so guilty for buying these that I never buy another club over the next few years :)

Sweet set of golf clubs! Ari had a cool booth at the PGA Show, and it was a pleasure speaking with Don White...

So, the irons have been working out better than I imagined. I've spent a lot more time at the range and have put in a few great rounds this year, dropping my index to a 2.9. After being so impressed with these irons, I just had to see what Jeff McCoy could do on his grinder. I went back to work with Patrick and placed an order for a 52⁰, 56⁰, and 60⁰ D/D wedges from the Tour Department. These would be replacing a set of 1018 retail wedges I've been using for two years, so I had a pretty good idea what I needed to change but turned to Patrick and Jeff to finalize the grinds.

52⁰ - SND grind with 10⁰ of bounce. Perfect grind for a digger and great on all kinds of lies. The toe is a bit more square than normal on this one.
56⁰ - SND grind with 14⁰ of bounce. This is modified from the standard SND grind to have additional trailing edge relief and a rolled heel.
60⁰ - SLT grind with 12⁰ of bounce. This has some reduced bounce to be better on tighter lies and additional trailing edge relief so it can be opened up easier.

Jeff finished up grinding and stamping today. I decided to go with the raw satin finish :)

Down to a 2.9, Thaddy?! DAMN! I've got work to do... still hanging around at a 7.5. I've not gotten out to play as often as I should, though-- only twice this year, actually. Yikes.

Anyway, the irons look great and the wedges are AMAZING. The trailing edge relief and rolled heel on your 56 are exactly what I need on my 56. I might just have to deal with my SB1's and pick up some TD wedges instead...

Those look really great..! I have a couple Jeff McCoy 1018's that he made for a tour player both DD, a 53* bent to 52* with the 16* XDG and a 60* bent to 58* with the 12* SLT...LOVE THESE...softer than anything I have played and just flat out perform for me. My problem is I hit them about 8-10 yards farther than my old wedges of the same loft and the partial shots are just way easier to hit distance over my old ones...keep flying greens or landing deep...LOL!!

They spend the majority of time in the bag!

I had a pretty good weekend a few weeks ago and shot a 72 (par 71) and a 74 (par 72) at a really tight course where previously I couldn't get under 80. I'm super pumped for the 56. That's the wedge where I really saw room for improvement and Patrick and Jeff both thought the changes to the SND grind will work great. I'll let you know how they work out :)

looks really cool! gonna rust them up?
We have a bit of rain is the forecast for this week, so with some practice chipping in the back yard they should be rusted up in no time!
From the Armory video the grinder/sander Don White uses is 3 phase 400 volts. That is absolutely beastly.

Enjoy the clubs, please don't ho them out.

Hah! These irons and wedges aren't going anywhere :)

Thaddy learn how to play out of the bunker with all the wedges, if you run into a bunker with little or no sand, you will kill somebody trying to hit that slt. It works great with lots of sand though. I ran into that problem when some courses started to cut back on sand purchase so I had Don take some bounce off. Problem solved.

I'm gaming a PWE which to me looks a lot like the SLT grind, but with more bounce and a small channel down the center. Just open that face and use the heel grind for all it's worth.

Yeah, this is why I went with some reduced bounce and more heel relief. My D/D 1018 worked OK and it had more bounce and less heel relief. My main focus on the 60* was to have it play better from tighter lies, but I won't feel bad if you decide to stand behind me on tight bunker lies :)
