I have heard this here many times before but I do not understand your point.

Isn't that kind of like saying it is not fair to compare a persimmon 3 fw to a steel three fw? Sure it is fair, one is just better than the other, TM has access to Ti like Adams does, they just didn't use it.

If titanium is superior to steel why didn't TaylorMade make the face Ti like Adams?

I agree with you and the fact Adams wins. I was saying that Ti is going to hit the ball further than steel, at least it always has for me. If the RBZ was made of Ti it would be more of a fair fight!

This isn't correct.

The whole point of the RBZ is that they got a steel head up to max COR.... both woods are maximised on COR, I'm not sure on the hybrids.

Titanium became popular because it was easier to build a club with higher CORs... but it's also expensive.... that's why the Adams club is $100 more expensive.

I have a 105 ss and went with the stiff in my 17* also. I did it mainly because I have struggled with the 17 hybrid in the past getting the desired ball flight. I do play an x in my i15 20* for the exact opposite reason. I really like the Fubuki in the lower lofted XTD. I am even considering getting a 15* and having it bent to 14. More testing to come.

I also have the i15 20 and 17 degree hybrid with x-stiff ust avixcore and really liked them but fell in love with the Adams and wanted to upgrade this season. Do you feel the fubuki is a tad whippy? I like a stiffer tip but the club still performs very well.

well, RBZ and XTD both messed up my distance gap.

They are both long and great clubs but just don't do a justice for me to switch. (I tried both clubs on the course multiple days)

My buddy dropped his 3w and got RBZ 5w and still the same distace but his good shot percentage is higher being higher lofted head.

If someone has repeatable/decent swing, I think going up on loft might be a great idea because better striking is distance guranteed.

I don't want my 3w to be as long as my driver. This is the reason why I play 4w and it does fine job for me.

Before anyone talk about "how long" the new club is... let's discuss "smash factor" as well.

I feel the exact same way. have had all other adams hybrids of late (black boxy ones and the new pro a12's) but i find the fubuki stiff a bit whippy and the misses if i take a rip at it are very hooky...

This is a timely thread as I'm in the process of looking for a replacement for my old TM 15* V-Steel 3w. I've hit the RBZ Tour 14.5*. Tour 15* 3w, 17* HL and the 19* 5w on a monitor along with my V-Steel and find that total distance is about the same with the new clubs all be it with longer carry and less roll out. I am a modest 100mph driver swing speed and my 3w distances were right at 230-240 total with just about all but the 5w. Carry distance for my V-steel was in the 210-218 range while the RBZ's were 215-225. I do realize that they all had different shafts and quite possibly, none of them perfect for me, but most of them were easy to hit off the deck and pretty staight. The thing I liked the most is the steeper angle of decent with the RBZ which would make holding a green on a par 5 easier. Currently, I have a lot of balls roll off the back on reachable par 5's which bugs me.

I am taking a demo Tour 14.5* out on a shorter/tight course tomorrow so it should get a good workout with three reachable par 5's and a bunch of shorter par 4's.. [i](This was a bust! I hit it on the range before the round and hit it way too low for my taste. Didn't even take it out of the bag during the round. On to the next one)[/i]

Qustion is, if I do the same tests with the Adams, will I see similar results or will they provide something different?
