Not really fair to Kevin as he disn't get a special exemption. He got in on a rule that has been in place for years. One in fact that Ernie has used in the past and would have gladly taken advantage of for this year

In the first set, I saw someone from the old days that I used to follow and wish I had that swing, Bobby Nichols walkin across the grounds with a guy I couldn't identify. Bobby is looking good., had one of the best swings ever.

I couldn't agree more with Greg, he earned his way in and took advantage of an exemption. At least he wasn't just given an invite like Ryo. If you check The Masters website it tells you which exemption got each player in. Every player on that list has a number (or multiple numbers) next to their name for the exemption aside from Ishikawa. Chappell is the 12th one, the first 8 players including ties in last year's US Open.

it was a bit of sarcasm. not taking anything away from the kid... he definitely earned it... but ranked 176 in the world, at this point in his career i'd give the 3rd place at the open a bit of an anomoly tag.

still, very noble of you to protect the feelings of a 26 year old millionaire who doesn't need it considering the post was tongue and cheek.

and by the way, it's top 8 and ties from the previous year us open.

they're treating him like a 2nd class citizen with the yips and shanks (kind'a true actually). he's likely on his way out of TM anyway. from what i hear he's more hassle than he's worth. the fussiest staffer they have.... goes through iron sets daily. should focus on his swing and stroke, not clubs.

You see, I wouldn't have figured that.. fussy.. seems nothing really changes out of his bag...other than the custom set of irons every few years. I see your point about his game being awful and maybe his contract won't be renewed etc. but nevertheless they should have made him a bag..if just for the exposure. Let's not forget he did win a Master's and many Canadians purchased TM gear for that simple fact and will follow him throughout the tourney/career..in the end, just looks bad... but as they say "c'est la vie! "

weird right? you wouldn't expect that from him. but i'm told by a taylormade rep that his tinkering with clubs is outrageous. they spend a lot of time with him. anyway, you're right, they should have given him a bag, or at least cleaned the old one. looks terrible.

anecdote (sarcastic): he plays "preferred mc" irons. could stand for "missed cut". i'd change them out if i were him. pretty soon the only tournament he'll be able to play is the masters on past champion exemptions.

i doubt she's his girlfriend for a couple of reasons:

 

1. she's not very attractive

2. neither is her friend

3. she's wearing a polo dress and not an orange puma
