So you found something they havent cleaned up on their website from the UproMX launch - did you ever consider that? Maybe you should read the rest of the page - right above it, second bullet:

But you're right, the four hundred places I've read that it comes with unlimited ProMode courses, they are probably just trying to screw me.

No, I really didn't think after lasts years tragic results that Callaway would make a major mistake like that on their website like that. Secondly, the fees are totally different from the Upro Mx from what I see. Which says they are new to me.

Guess I am an idiot for thinking there website would be accurate. Your are the smart one and so fortunate to have unlimited downloads.




Maybe someone could add to this post when the device is release to the average golfer out there. Did anyone else get free unlimited downloads.

Any reviews would be good too.

This is not a new device. The Version 3.0 software is available to anyone with a UproMX and upgrades their device to the MX+. The hardware still says UproMX on it.

I guess you can continue insisting that you are right but the bottom line is that you arent. So continue to namecall all you want, your 12 hours of membership has been extremely beneficial to the community so far.

Well there you go. They felt sorry for you and gave you unlimited ProMode with the software updates because your device was originally crap.
If you buy a [u]new[/u] device I would expect the website pricing would be true.
Im confused on why you are fighting Callaways Pro Mode pricing that is clearly stated on their site and hidden in almost all other advertising.
And you wonder why I call names with your last comment.
You will be proven wrong shortly when people start getting their new devices.

Looks like In the hole golf is one of the few places besides Callaway that mentions a pricing for ProMode. Kudos to them.

But DC Midnight read the same press release 400 times on different sites by Callaway rep. Scott Goryl so he must me right.

Hey guys! This is a [b]golf[/b] forum site not a place to take shots at one another. We'll all find out soon enough if the Pro Modes are an additional cost. I'm pretty sure that they will be but time will tell. DC got his free so that's great for him but others may not be so lucky.

When the original mx was released, purchasers were given 25 FREE pro mode downloads because Callaway screwed up so badly. It's very possible that Callaway [I'm guessing here] is offering the pre-purchasers of the mx+ a special thanks about downloading pro mode because they want to save goodwill. Yes, it might not be advertised as such but may be only a special thanks.

Great respect for the Nam Vets. We have it easy compared to what you all faced.
Hope this new device/software gets good reviews over the next month. Adding of distance mark function would help my decision too.
It will either be this or the Garmin G6 come July. Love my range finder, but need a good GPS to help manage the course, especially courses I havent played.

Hey guys, i too have the updated MX+, pricing on the original was $199.99, but when they release the new MX+ the price will just be $249.99 and it includes promode. The site that shows upro package prices will eventually be changed when the new MX+ gets released

It clearly states that promode is included in the new device.

Ok, new MX Plus, new account, etc.

"Unlimited Free Pro Mode Downloads are included with your uPro MX+ purchase"

So that's confirmed.

Other...

* Arrived 81% charged, which is nice.

* Setup went pretty quick, no quirks or issues like previous models.

* Upro navigator/uxplore pretty much the same, web based app to select and sync courses.

* Might be my imagination but syncing Pro Mode courses seems faster.

* No peel off plastic screen cover, which is not a major deal but most electronics come with one. Nice to have to prevent scratches while fussing with the unit at first.

What else... software is at 3.0.002, which I think is what the original MX users are at as well now?

No mark function has already been confirmed...really bummed about this, to be honest. Have two rounds this weekend we'll see how it goes. Still have my original uPro too will have it for backup, along with the 1600 of course lol. Too much technology, not enough talent...

I didn't really time it, I d/l'd two course in a couple minutes. It's usually several minutes or 5 per course, ie if I was loading more than 3 or 4, I would just kick it off and walk away for awhile... So it just seemed faster. I'll load a few more this weekend and see if I can get some real times.

If that is the case, just one more reason that the USGA is dumb. I don't care what their stupid rules are about grooves, or what my GPS is allowed to tell me. It sucks when they stick their nose where it doesn't need to be. How many of us are pro's, or regularly play in tournaments that require compliance w/ USGA rules? 1% of the people that play golf...maybe less??

Make rules to govern how the game is played, but don't waste peoples time and make it less enjoyable.

Well so far I am underwhelmed...missing some key (to me) features of the original, and the touch screen is actually more a pain to use than the toggle setup of the original, imo. The screen is just to small for touch screen use, I think. Looking at returning it and sticking with the original...

I have the orginal and ordered the mx+... updated my old one tonight and seems I have everything mx+ does.. I'm thinking I need to cancel my order.. I already have promode.

Sent mine back today, going to stick with my original upro (not mx, the first one). It's not the worst gps in the world, but compared to the original, I didn't see the need to upgrade, mainly due to:

* No Mark Ball/Shot Tracker. I actually use this a lot, more often than I expected. Not having it made an immediate impression.
* No quick 100/150/200 markers like the original.
* Touch screen - I just don't like it. It's just too small, my finger covers up the anypoint, it's a pain to use compared to the toggle of the original model. Old model easier to operate with one hand. With the new one, It seems you hold with one hand and do the touch screen movements with other hand.
* Along those lines, pinching/zooming/etc harder on touch screen than using toggle.
* No power save disable option
* Accuracy was off by several yards compared to other units in the group, up to 9 yards.

Anyway, sticking with the original and my 1600...

Maybe Callaway will sell an accessory stylus.

I love my orginal uPro - this new device makes no sense to me. It's as if they didn't consider usability at all. If you're going to go with a touch screen, it needs to be bigger.

I agree about screen size! I was also looking at the Garmin G6 and it's also really nice. But the first thing I was struck by is the screen seemed a little small. I'm beginning to think these marketing guys are all under 40.

Yeah I tried, didn't have much luck with that, or a gloved finger either. I guess not conductive enough? Not sure. Plus worried about scratching the screen.

I'm sure plenty will be happy/satisfied with the plus, I just prefer the original upro.

I love the form factor of the mx/mx+.. cant stand my SGX skycaddie.. I like to throw it on my back pocket and accidentally turn it off quite often..Only thing I miss is the mark feature... hopefully it's added at some point.
