I am in the same boat but narrowed my search down to the Miura TB's or the Scratch SB-1's. I think I will end up with the Miuras but love getting the custom grind with the SB-1's.

I recently made basically the same decision that you are making. I hit pretty much every exotic, JDM and large OEM blade available. From the list you mentioned the Miura TB's were hands down the winner. To be honest it wasn’t even close. The feel, setup, performance and look of the Miura’s is remarkable, they really are the whole package.... The Miura BB's are so small and extremely difficult to hit consistently for how much I play and practice. If you are not an elite ball striker that is playing 5+ times a week I would not recommend the Miura BB's.

The Vegas you can throw out the window as they aren’t in nearly the class of the other irons mentioned.

The only blade better than the Miura TB’s IMO are Scratch TD SB1's. To me the TD's feel different than the retail SB1's. Not sure if the finish is applied differently or if it's because they are SW perfectly without adding the weight in the hosel. But something makes them feel different.

The only reason that I ordered the Miura TB's over the Scratch TD's is because they cost substantially less (at least I got them for less) and when I do pull the trigger on a set of TD's I would prefer to visit Scratch and get custom fit to assure that I get exactly what I want.

If I were you I would consider a few other clubs if you can get access to them. Akira's new blade that is coming out, the Mizuno Customs that you can order from Tour Spec Golf and the Kyoei Fi-2 are all solid clubs that could be considered.

Scratchswinger, what do you think of the Yonex blade, also I have been playing the J33 blades for the last three seasons. Would love to have something similar with conforming grooves. Any suggestions?

I purchased the Muira Tourney Baby Blades. Got The Nippon SP Blue shafts and heads custom paint filled. Problem was they look so dam good I didn't want to hit them and purchased 3 other sets of blades or Tour Issued Gear and did the same. I have those and the Cally X Proto's, TM TP B heads that have never seen a ball. I need to shoot myself!, ahhh I'm a ho!

Currently play the TM R9 B heads but the Cobra AMP forged finally arrived. Just hit those 2 nights ago. Love them as they feel very nice.

Some collection you have there!

Would be interesting to hear your thoughts after you do hit them especially coming from the R9 TP B irons

I was really excited to hit the Ezones as they look really good from pictures. But to me they don't setup nearly as good as the Miura's. The toes are much rounder and the overall size of the head is larger. Many members on here have positive reviews on them but I hit about 10 balls before I knew that they weren't for me.

Another option if you get your hands on a set is the Tour Stage blade that Davis Love III is currently playing.

Playing tomorrow and put the Cobra's in the bag. I'll post after the round. BTW PaulR9 I love the Scratch stuff. Had a set of the AR's when I started ho'ing haha. I have 3 sets of Muira wedges and 3 sets of Scratch (2 1081's and 1 custom Don White coming). Love those 2 brands of wedges. Love the 57 series in the Muira's Y and C but the K is so nice out of the sand, which is my kriptonite!

I play the Vega blades (my signature is telling) and they are the best feeling clubs I have ever hit. This is the first time I have every heard that Vega clubs should be "thrown out the window" usually they get rave reviews. What about the Vega blades didn't you like? I have hit many blades, including the Miura TM blades and they were also very good and so were the Yonex MBs. But I liked the Vegas best so far. Super solid mot mushy feel, weight tolerances, lie and loft was perfect, and they aren't even that hard to hit. They have the perfect grind to me.

This is somewhat unrelated, but in my fitting it was down to my current set and the scratch sb-1s. I literally hit everything a club longer over the scratch's. Any idea why? They felt so good, but i just could not justify buying them with that distance difference.

Weak, more traditional lofts in the Scratch clubs?

Yes everything was equal. Although swingweight in the scratch may have been a point lower. They felt slightly lighter. I mean barely lighter. The only difference was the Adams had the black nickel kbs. I don't think that matters lol

No that shouldn't matter, ha ha. Then it's just a design thing i guess, maybe the Adams have a hotter face

You are doing yourself a disservice to include all these terrific irons and not to include the Epon line. I had a very similar list and very heavily leaned toward the Miuras. Fitter had me hit a bunch of stuff and then the Epons and they were head and shoulders above anything else.

Also agree with whomever said it's crazy to throw out the Vegas. Most who own em love em...almost cult like following.

Final note: I never understood the obsession with distances in ones irons....driver and 3 wood yes, but as long as you're filling the gaps with your irons, why do you care if a PW from one OEM goes farther than the PW from another? My Epons were never longer than my AP1's, but they were much more accurate.

Royal Collection blades are very nice. Great feel and playability. Very similiar to most of the high end Japanese forgings.

I have hit all the blades you mentioned. You also may want to try the Yonex eZones (and TBs).

Originally I bought the TBs over the others. Even though the Scratch and Vegas were at least 1/2 club length longer, the control of the Miuras was outstanding you can hit all 4 windows. They are all smooth.

That being said, my Miuras are now relegated to range beaters and will stay there (along with my MP100s).

The Yonex are by far the best modern blade I've tried. A good full club longer than my Miuras (both sets have Monacos in them) and awesome control.

You need to go out and hit them that's what I did initially.

Regardless all are quality blades and you can't go wrong.

i've hit them both and while the ezones are good, imho i certainly can't say they're better than the miuras. the only thing i can say is that they're longer...but most likely simply because they have slightly stronger lofts.

I'd suggest the Ezone and also the Tourstage x-blade 905 (the DLIII blade). I love my X-Blade 901's and have nothing but nice things to say about Tourstage.

I play the Miura Baby Blades and do not find them hard to hit. I am a 9 hdcp right now. Believe it or not they are much more forgiving than they appear. I have a set of Miura 301 irons as well and I play the baby blades. I have to admit that I would not have pulled the trigger on the blades if I did not own the 301s for backup. Hpoe that helps.
