I would have said, "Hey, what's your profile name on GolfWRX?". Then followed by, "Jesus! If you're gonna mark with that, might as well leave your ball there!'

On a sidenote, its always nice to meet fellow members.

I carry the Wrx divot repair tool with the standard 'dime' size marker for marking putts inside anyone's line...outside of that I use the poker chips. No issues. No one has ever complained..not in their line of sight, so who cares.
Easier to see when I have a long putt as I like to look at it from the other side....that would be a well thought out argument.

You could just leave your ball where it was to check out the put from the other side since you're obviously not in anyones way. The truth is you just want to use your poker chip, but you know that it will knock a put offline so you carry an appropriate marker. Honestly use a cinder block to mark your ball, just dont expect me to put though it.

Consider my crusade against those obnoxious poker chip markers to exclude you (and those like you) because you are courteous enough not to drop one in someones line.

^^^ holy moly bottlenose, someone rub your nose the wrong way today? Chillax man...some people like to use big markers, others like dimes. If its in the way, I'm sure they'd be willing to move it.

And I agree, owning something with GolfWRX on it doesn't necessarily mean you are a member; however, I should have been clearer in stating that it is a good conversation starter

Why I like to mark with my GolfWRX poker chip:
1) It stands out and prevents people from walking all over my line or even stepping right on my mark;
2) I can find it; sometimes on large greens I can lose my mark for a minute, but not with the poker chip.
3) Conversation starter, though many wonder if it is a Green Bay Packers souvenir.

I also carry two markers... usually a poker chip or one of my golfwrx markers... and a smaller marker for the times that I am in someones line

There is nothing wrong with asking someone to move their mark, I make sure that I am considerate of those I am playing with when marking my ball.

So is it the golfwrx poker chip that you have an issue with or just the poker chip in general?

OP - here is the link for your next ball marker http://outfitted.gol...er-chips-5-pack ;)

A penny is more annoying to me. I seem to have so much trouble finding my penny if I pick my ball up and walk to the other side of the home. I'm never annoyed by other peoples marks. I don't know anybody that would putt over a marker of any size, huge poker chip or tiny dime. It's common practice to move the mark if it's in someones line.

Poker chip's easier to find/grab out of my pocket. I like to change up my markers.

I use the GolfWrx poker chips as a ball marker when i am not close to another player , outside 10 feet would be about where i use them anything closer or right around another player's line i usually have dimes for that , but the group i normally play in has yet to make a comment about them even being used , i guess they have more important things to think about than playing partners choice of ball marker

Making your ball with a poker chip is stupid and obnoxious no matter what it says on it. Id love to hear a well thought out argument from the other side.

Stupid and Obnoxious? I use my GolfWRX chip all the time. No one has ever said anything to me about it. But then maybe I don't know that they are pissed at me because I am stupid and obnoxious.

Yep, this is how I do it except I usually use a quarter or penny when I know I am close to someone else's line or inside ten feet.

I have an Odyssey poker chip, a metal $1 coin from Harras casino, and a red Mardi Gras dabloon from the Krewe of Centurions. I also have a couple of quarters that sit in the same pocket in my bag. When I reach in, whatever I grab is what I use. If your attention span is so small that something as minuscule as a ball marker distracts you that much, that is your problem, not mine. As long as its not in your line, no reason to even notice it. If it is in your line, ask them to move it, just as you would with any other marker.

I have seen older people use poker chips or golf tees because it's easier for them to see it when they walk away.
Also no matter what ball marker I use, if I'm in someone's line, I always move my marker over one or even two putter head either direction. Just my opinion but a markers a markers and I think unless the persons a jerk, they would move it if you asked.
