Best time to go to Bandon

We are going to get a group of 4 to go to Bandon over the next year. I wanted to know the best time to go. I would rather avoid the rainy season to be honest (I know you can't control nature). I see there is a big discrepency in price depending on when you travel. Thanks for you help.

If you're doing it at a time that I can swing it and you have a spot, I'm dead serious!

August was blazing this year, and by late September there will be rain. If you want the sweet spot for weather it's the second week to third week in September. While you have a chance for rain, it's not like April - June, and you have light till around 7:30. The highs are closer to mid 70's, kids are back in school and prices kiiiind of go down.

Also keep in mind. Bandon is really not close to anything major. It's probably less trafficked than people think. Not only do they have a few courses, but it's $$$ and you have to SPECIFICALLY travel to the area. It's not a "crap, it's sunny let's go play Bandon".

I was in Bandon August 21-24 and we played 36 each day.

Weather was sunny and dry in the mid 60's but the wind really picked up in the afternoon rounds, making it require more layers. In the morning rounds, you could wear shorts with a light windshirt. However, in the afternoon, you needed rain pants and jacket. Also, its a good idea to pack a stocking cap to cover your ears as the wind really blows and makes a lot of noise. You will see most of the caddies wearing them as well.

I would say the best times to go are mid July - early September to avoid the rain. Be prepared for very strong winds though.

I'm dying to get there. Played at Arcadia Bluffs this week and the couple we played with had just recently been there. They couldn't say enough good things. The logistics of getting out there from Detroit is pretty brutal. Lot of one or two stop flights and then you still have a long drive. Arrrgggh.

So what is the weather like the beginning of October i.e. now? Rainy? I'm starting to think that August may be the best time for us.

FWIW, seems like everyone I know in Oregon and Washington goes in Feb - Apr.
why is this? prices, weather, conditions, not crowded...?
Feb-Apr is a great time to go because the weather can be great and the prices are affordable. I've been twice in Dec and have a trip booked again this year with another in Feb. Prepare for weather but don't be surprised when it's sunny and 65 either. I'm just a "local" guy though that doesn't mind rolling the dice. It's not worth it (to me) to pay the extra 150 bucks a round to play in the dry months. But if you are travelling I wouldn't fault you for trying to get the best golf experience. I say save your money and take the early spring risk. It'll be a blast either way, and if you do hit the good weather you'll feel like you just pulled a fast one.

For price mid to late Feb no questions asked. I have hit it there 6 times in the last six years four rounds each time. I have had 3 miserable rounds of weather and the rest was great. If price is not an issue August.

Same experience at WardonNation, been to Bandon 7 times and only once in the summer. Had good experience in late Feb - Apr. Always a chance of rain so you need to be prepared but I have been rained out once in nearly 30 rounds. Funny thing is that the weather hasn't fluctuated by more than 15-20 degrees between my winter-spring visits and a trip in June. Of course, summer is best chance for good weather but for the cost, I think late Feb-Apr are good options to consider. Enjoy!

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
