Nike 20XI * X tour issue vs 20XI-X vs 20XI-S Comparison CRAZY RESULTS

Okay okay after all of this talk about the amazing Nike 20XI balls I decided to do another review except this time I have photo's and called my Nike connection and got him to toss a few dozen TOUR ISSUE 20XI * X my way. So after all of the talk I decided to take these 3 out for a full 9 holes today. Results are pretty AMAZING. The tour issue Nike 20XI*X was SICK. It's like the pefect ball, I don't know how they did it but if this truly is the next version of the X then kids start preordering NOW!!!!

 

 

Okay first up the following 3 pics are approach shot's into a green from 112yds (three quarter54*) The first picture is the 20XI-X, the second is the 20XI-S and the last pic is you guessed it the 20XI*X spitting fire andbacking up 18ft !!!!!!!! I used the putter for reference.

As for the driver. Well take a look. The ball at the bottom of the screen is the S, then directly ahead in the first cut is the 20XI-X then take a look ahead and to the right. YEAH THAT"S THE TOUR ISSUE 20XI*X !!!!!!!!!!

Wowsers that's a lot of spin! I've enjoyed the 20Xi-X so am looking forward to the next step of the ball's evolution.

yeah the wedge spin was off the charts and its absolutely shocked me. With 9 iron and up spin on the greens was very similar to the retail X. Flight was a little lower the Retail as well. Kind of in between the X and S. Feel was similar but the tour issue was a little bit softer. Driver distance was about 10-12yds further then the retail which was insane. Off the irons its about 5-6 yds longer on average.

Sounded similar but not as loud. Again to me I like the sound but it's really going to come down to what driver you have. Off of my nike vrs it sounds great off of my R11s is sounded horrible and blew out my ears every swing lol.

I want a sleeve. I've been playing 20XI's all season (sometimes S and sometimes X) and have been handing out some to new guys I play with to try... Most really like them after giving them a try (except for the awful swings do sound/feel harsher)

The 20XI is definitely a solid performer, it's just that the feel and sound are pretty harsh. I'm interested to see if they can polish it for 2013.

I find it ironic that their [size=5][b]*[/b][/size] tour-issue balls always seem to be way more popular than retail. It was the same with the Tour D. When they have a ball that's preferred by professionals, why not just bring that ball to the retail market?

must be more expensive to make somehow whether that be in materials or construction. The retail X is a great ball and it sounds as the new 20XI X is going to be the same as the tour issue next year.

Hmmmm not sure that I would want that much spin on my wedge shots.... I used to do that with the ProV1x and I tried the 20Xi but the sound and feel left me wanting. The B330 is what I am liking now.

Thanks for the review... I also find it interestign you backed up the 8 iron that much with the S and not the *X like you did on the wedge....

Results seem good but I definately do not want a shot backing up that much. For me too hard to control. I'd rather have a ball the hops and stops or rolls back to the pitch mark. That much spin would make it really difficult to get to back pin locations. Unless you can really control the spin and take something off I guess.

It only spun that much with the wedge because I put a swing on it that would impart more spin as I didn't realize it would back up half the length of the green lol After that knowing what the ball was like I could flight it down and manage the spin extremely well and shots around the green checked hard which was great.

There's a dozen of the xi* on eBay for 30 plus shipping just FYI. But there is no way in hell I want a ball that backs up 1/3 of the green length on approaches
