Good mate. 8.5 now because the winners have been 4 and 6 under!! I was hoping to loose a shot or two. However at least i have a few shots on my side. I've been in the prizes 2 out of 2 comps so really happy where i'm at. I'm determined to shoot 72 before the end of the season.

I play links and we've had amazing weather which left the course kind of defenceless hence the low scores.

Few updates in the process. Including a completely one off putter being made in the future.


I've put S400's in my 52 and 58 wedges and it's made such a difference. I had PX 5.5's before. The S400's are more workable in a wedge and so much easier around the green. Tempting to put them in the irons too!!

I had a bit of time for a change, so i thought i'd get a few pics of the bats up. I'm very happy with with set up. I've been playing for about 2.5 years now and this is finally feeling like i'm done with different set ups. The only thing that will change is the putter when my new one is made. So let's see how long this lasts.

 

Driver

 

Cobra Amp cell pro was set to 8.5º but have worked hard with my teacher to get better impact angles so now it's up to 9.5º as i'm getting much better strikes. Graffaloy pro launch red shaft at 44.5". GP multi grip.

 

3 wood

 

Titleist

 

913fd. I love this 3 wood!! great off the tee and into long par 5's. It's going no where. Diamana s+ 'whiteboard' 42.5" lamkin 3gen grip.

 

2 iron

 

Nike 2008 pro combo. X100 with lamkin 3gen grip awesome fairway finder and wind cheater

 

Irons 3-PW

 

Nike forged blades. PXi 6.0. custom ferrules and hand built to MOI specs. 2º upright

 

wedges 52º/58º

 

Mizuno MP t-11's. s400's. Lamkin 3gen grips. Custom ferrules. SW D6 in both. Same length as PW. 58º has been hand ground

 

Putter (for now)

Well after being happy with everything in the bag and not looking at clubs i made the mistake of hitting a Yonex i-ezone Ti 3 wood today. After hitting half a bucket on flight scope with it i had bought one :o

 

Such a quiet and soft feeling 3 wood. It goes miles and is so easy to shape. It's kicked my 913fd out the bag. Looking forward to getting it on the course at the weekend to see what it can do :D

Those are my old wedges. It was to get the swing weight to D6. The new T-11's i still use have weights in the heads to do the same thing.

New irons are here. Just couldn't resist such easy to hit good looking clubs :D I'm just waiting for the custom ferrules to turn up from the states. Be interesting to see what they look like when i'm finished.

i6 3gen in blue :D They're really good and much better than the old version

 

So i did 18 today with the 54's. Wow!! So easy to hit and launch. Biggest difference was with the 3 iron, i was able to hit it high and land it so soft. Something that was pretty awkward with the blades. Easy to shape. Hit push draws all day long and am in love with the 3 iron off the tee. Made 3 birdies with two being back to back. Distance control was very good. Total distance isn't all that much different than my blades as i had the lofts matched. I'm even more consistent with these. The KBS tour is also new to me and they're a great feeling shaft. Much more feel than the PXi.

 

So happy i got these in the bag :D Every shot was a 'huh, look at that go'. Out the fairway they get up in the air so easily.

 

I'll be breaking par with these in no time ;)

Thanks. No i dropped the 2 iron completely. I just hit the 3 iron harder

the z star is similar to the pro v and in my opinion better. I don't like Pro v's, they spin too much on iron shots

I'm on the case. Bit of photoshop to see what the colours will like. Got all the ferrules on and paint removed so will be ready for paint fill tomorrow :D
