Devotion 8 vs AD DI 8

Hey so I am currently gaming a 910f 13.5 with the stock ahina stiff, and although this shaft is better than most stock offering IMO, the stiff flex just isn't keeping up with me these days, and I have lost the feel for it. The trajectory and distance are both fine but I am moving to an X flex.

 

So I got a decent deal on an AD DI 8 x and thought that this would be a good shaft to try, and that the launch would be similar. I then saw a devotion for a steal and picked that up as well. They are both X and the same weight class, but the Devo is going to play 43.5 and the DI 42.5 (i believe). I will extend the DI if need be and can obviously cut down the Oban.

 

So my question is which would you recommend to try first since I only have 1 adapter. I want to: a) keep a similar flight, and b) have the best feel, c) best consistancy/dispersion.

I love my devotions in my fairways. the di will launch higher than the devotion though. the devotion can be demanding for some people.

I thought that the DI would probably launch higher. What exactly do you mean by demanding? like launch wise?

For me personally I found the Devotion to be amazing in a driver. I always put a devotion 6 x straight in with no tipping and it's as smooth as can be. Oban devotions in fairway woods just seem to be total boards for some reason. I guess it's because you play more of a variety of shots with your fairways and aren't always taking a full swing. This is just my opinion. My favorite set up includes Devotion 6x in driver and whiteboard 73S tipped 1" in fairway. It just seems to work for me because the shafts have a similar feel.

If that is the case then it might be a bit boardy cuz it is tipped a full inch, which should play to flex in the 910f but we will see. My driver ss is like 113-115 so I think I can handle it. But in any case I think I am going with the AD DI first. It is already tipped half an inch but I think I am going to tip it another .5" and throw a 1" extension in there to get it to play 43"

yeah it can be boardy and tough to load for some especially in heavier weights. I like that feel of the devotion though. my driver one is tipped half an inch and my fairways are .75. the fairways feel more boardy to me than my driver but I like that feel and it works well with how I load it.

43.5 length is mighty long in a 3 wood. I had one at 43.25" and it felt too long I would recommend cutting down to at least 43

Yeah I know the length is pretty long. I was more just commenting on the length I have to work with. I have a Superfast 2.0 tp that I picked up at a demo day and it is at 43.5+ and I cant hit it to save my life, plus when I do its not the right fit at all. Luckily I got it for $60 all in and its got a kaili and Iomic installed.

Anyways, I am going to try the AD DI first as I dont really want a boardy shaft, and I just really want to try it as I haven't hit one before.
