Annual trip from the east coast to AZ babbbbbyyyy! Out Saturday 4/27 and back Saturday 5/4.

 

Sunday 4/28 - Eagle Mountain

Monday 4/29 - WeKoPa (Cholla)

Tuesday 4/30 - SunRidge Canyon

Wednesday 5/1 - Troon (Pinnacle)

Thursday 5/2 - WeKoPa (Saguaro)

Friday 5/3 - Grayhawk (Raptor)

 

We rent a condo in the Grayhawk area which is great. Great location on the Talon course, close to restaurants, close to courses and MUCH more economical than 2 hotel rooms for the week. So excited!

We did in the past, but some of us are getting older and we finally conceded that 36 on top of 5-6 other rounds is too much!

No opinion on the Sidewinder nix, but Karsten doesn't even belong in the same group as the others. Pete Dye course that is nothing but rolling hills.

Karsten....uggg. Pete Dye. Power lines/power plant. Google earth the south side of that course. I played it once and that was enough.

If you are playing ASU due to its proximity to PHX... Papago, Legacy and Raven are better choices.

I second the motion to swap out karsten, as for the gold canyon area courses, Dino mountain is much prettier than sidewinder, and sidewinder is more difficult, especially the back 9, so depends on what you want. I agree with fore_life though that superstition mountain would be a good choice.

Sidewinder is a mess. The whole course evolved piecemeal and when they only had room for 8 holes on the north side (and I would dispute that they even had room for eight holes), they jammed in an extra hole on the already existing nine on the south side. Yuck. The newer holes exhibit some of the most retarded routing ever.

I agree with these guys on Sidewinder, don't waste your time, drive down the road and play one of the Superstition Mountain courses.
