9.5* asp 1* open. We didn't mess with the weights but he was saying go 6 in the heal 6 in the toe. Kiyoshi White 75g stiff

Best way to put it for now, Taylormade would not release a worse performing driver to the market, they want to sell drivers why would they hold back? I'm sorry guys, I wanted to give you the answer but I want Zak to do it appropriately. Hope you guys aren't to bummed at me. I just don't want to say it wrong. It's a much more reasonable answer then you guys realize, trust me on that.

The answer on COR is disappointing. I know you can not make them say something, but I would have hoped they would just be forthcoming on it. I mean Adams flat out says on their site their hybrid has the highest CT of any hybrid. Boom.

I don't think that it would be wise for TM or any OEM to produce and sell a club that is max out at the USGA COR limit! If they keep it below and only raise it buy a few points each year they can continue to say that the next years model hits the ball farther then the last year purely on the premise that higher COR equals more distance!

Why would they want to go and blow all the 0.830 COR limit when there are many more years ahead of them to design and sell clubs!

For heavens sake there have been clubs at the 0.830 COR limit for more then 10 years now!

Thats not what they are doing, they aren't holding back when they know they can go further. They have a plan on what to do to keep progressing, but I won't discuss it on here out of respect for Tom telling me what they were up to.

Its not all about distance, distance sell yes, but theres alot more to clubs then raw distance.

Speed pocket was the big evolution last year, this year it's the carpenter steel and very very thin face. They were able to incorporate an adjustable sleeve. Beyond that I don't know much about the evolution of the speed pocket in woods.

Ok Face Angle!!!!!!

Straight from the mouth of Tom Kroll head of Metal Woods (or something like that)

Loft is measured suspended from the shaft of the club, not soled on the ground. Face angle is measured horizontally when the club is soled, so the sole effects the face angle, depending where the shaft is. By every 1 degree of loft change, you alter the face by 2 degrees. Thats just physics, it not TM physics, it Isaac Newton physics...I think thats the right guy? Its the same for all OEMs. If you alter loft, you alter face angle because the club sit differently on its sole no matter what...unless you have an ASP plate to adjust the face angle by protruding further out closing the face...or being further up in the club opening the face.

You cannot, cannot change loft without altering face angle, it is not independent. Not saying an OEM is lying...it just not independent.

He explained a lot more, but Tom is a brilliant guy and much smarter then I am so I only could follow so far before my brain exploded.

Taylormade uses the ASP plate because face angle is measure when the club in soled on the ground.

I can't wait to hear what the difference in the heads are. The V2 probably has less CC's, maybe a different horizontal and vertical CG. Wow. As long as it's stamped with something like "Tour Preffered" or "Tour Only" guess some people will have to have it.
