I want to start doing more cardio. It is much more important in my opinion and there is a lot less chance of hurting yourself. I recommend doing cardio until you are satisfied, then start working with the weights.

Slim down then bulk up. :)

And yes, stuff like medicine balls and all that are VERY helpful when it comes to golf.

Also, the video on clevelandgolf.com helps get me modivated.

if you want to add distance to your shots, really work on your legs and midsection because thats what gives you your power. My routine is I work on my fore-arms then do 3 sets of 15 push-ups, 3 sets of 20 in squats and 3 sets of 20 in sit ups. You will find out that after you do this about 3 times a week for a few months that you will gain some distance and it can also help your golf swing by making it more compact and athletic.

STREEEEEEETCH! You have to add stretching to your golf workout its a must, every pro golfer that works out stretches!

 

With adding muscle and building up I do 45 press ups, 45 crunches, 45 reverse crunches, 45 curls with dumbbells, I do that everyday followed up by 30 minutes of golf stretches!

If your doing weights because you wna improve your game, you have to do GOLF SPECIFIC work outs! Otherwise your probably harming your golf game!

okay, i do many reps 12-15, 3 sets on each- seated row, shoulder press, tricep pulldown, wood chop, leg press, squats, and vertical press. Tiger does a lot of reps, and you can see what shape he is in. Hope this helps!! Definently stretch before and after, tiger does it for 20 minutes, so even 5 would be good
