I am usually not jelous of JDM equipment, but when it comes to the Tourstage vs Bridgestone equipment, I greaty envy those in the foreign market. Bridgestone could bring these the market and do so well with a little advertising. Full blade sets or combo them to the J40's. I don't understand why they do not market something so beautiful. And it's not like the equipment plays sub-par eitther, it's quality stuff that can compete with anything out there.

They look awesome... They do look 2013 callaway x forged ish to me. They could of been callys new blade :)
Is it just me, or do the new callaway x forged look identical to the on off irons? I don't really see the resemblance of the tour stage to the cally, other than they both are blades so inherently look similar...

bridgetone IS tourstage.
but when i tried to sell my TOURSTAGE 901 and 905 blades with monacco shafts , no one had any idea or interest in them.
but ,the j38, which are the 901 re badged in the US . exactly the same heads diffent stamp. were on sale a few monmths later for 3 times mine bec they said bridgestone not tourstage, the j38s were worth almost tripple of what hte tourtage 901s were aparently............ .....?????????

go figure........

so i gotta disagree 100% that tourstage has ANY pulling power in the us without significant advertising ..
its insane,, utterly insane. these are on the branch at the top of tree , bridgestone/ tourstage along with yamaha for the very best all over range of clubs u can buy.

yet no one looks .
i sit shaking my head,.

owari !

Not to derail the thread...but perhaps they just happened to get posted up at the wrong time. I personally don't like the 901s but was looking for 905s a while back. Never saw any that I could afford to spend the money on. It's all about timing and them being around at the time that someone has interest in them.

As for comparing the values, I am going out on a limb to say < 10% maybe even 5% of the golfing market does not appreciate the JDM market. I can't tell you how many times I have said the word Miura and I get the deer in the headlight look. Then you tell them their background and you still get a less than interested "Oh" response.

If I were to spend the $$$ on JDM iron (outside of Miura), I would sell them on swap shops that cater to JDM lines. I REALLY like the look of those 909 blades and the 709MC. I just can't afford them.

And that, in a nutshell, is why they'll never be marketed in the U.S.

Japanese and Americans do not think the same at all. Most Japanese houses are sparsely furnished with high quality things. Most American houses re filled with cheap plastic stuff from China.

In Japan, life is fleeting and you might as well buy something of quality that will last a long time. In America, well, I guess you'll buy better quality things in your next life? :derisive:

Well I can't speak for the rest of the world but I am not willing to spend say $1600 on a set of irons that I can not hold, touch, feel, and most importantly HIT first. Now I have hit the Miuras so atleast I know what I am getting if I was willing to spend that kind of money.

I have to admit, that there is at least some merit in this philosophy. Hard to part with that kind of dough for most of us without at least being able to hold the club in your hand first, much less hit it. That said, there are suppliers/distributors around that do send out demos upon request.

They are beautiful irons.
