My favorite is the PING Anser Milled #5. It felt perfect when I was practicing my putting at my local shop.

My dad is putter nut, and has a CRAZE, WACKE, to go along with the original Anser. I picked him up a NOME Belly for XMAS and it feels fantastic.

I think the classic PING putter is the Anser 2. It has been used by god only knows how many pros and copied ad nauseum (yes, I am looking at you Titleist). I used one through H.S. and college. Made a lot of putts with that thing. I financed my teenage life through weekend skins games in H.S. A friend of my brothers "borrowed" it while my bag was lying fallow in the last 20 years. I now have a B60, but the Anser 2 will always have a place in my heart....

Black satin Anser 2 is my favorite that I have in my bag/rotation.

But I would die for a BeNi Scottsdale Anser without a sound slot/ sight line or BeNi/BeCu Anser 2.

Raising this thread from the dead because I picked up this beauty not too long ago. Still in excellent shape for being 25 years old. The head is light by today's standards, but nothing some lead/tungsten tape won't fix.

 

 

 

 

Next to my old B60, which I have owned since 1988 or thereabouts. The black satin finish was always my favorite next to the BeCu.

Raising this thread from the dead because I picked up this beauty not too long ago. Still in excellent shape for being 25 years old. The head is light by today's standards, but nothing some lead/tungsten tape won't fix.

I asked PING in 2009, the Ping Zing has a head of 297gr. It also was never made/offered in BeCu, it is MgBr only.

Maybe for the Zing, but for the Zing [u]2[/u], I'm pretty sure they were made in BeCu. I saw many way back in the late 80s that had the decal where it said that the BeCu finish would darken over time, etc etc.

hmmm....i used to have a BeCu Ping Zing 5...

 

Perhaps you could contact PING and paste their reply on here. I deleted mine years ago, after printing it.

Old: BeCu Anser 2. Can't beat the feel and I don't know why, but I like the little Pingman logo on the toe of the old Anser 2's.
New: Redwood Anser. One of the best feeling putters I've rolled.

My first putter is a Ping Pal2, ss, that was bought in 1994. It stayed in play until the Craz-E iWi in 2011.

Ping Karsten 1959 Craz-e is deadly accurate for me. The feel is ok but sure wish they would come out with a Redwood Craz-e. That would be unbeatable for me.

The Redwood Anser was sweet however I've gotta go with the Milled Anser-

I like it better than any Scotty I've got cept for a Circle T Newport Beach, though it's a much better value, lol
