Spoiled by Palm Springs........

Iam a Jersey guy so iam quite used to decent golf courses. Recently having moved to Utah the course management is much worst then most NJ

courses . I dont know where you guys play but i know anywhere in NJ your not allowed to wear t shirts and jeans. But here in UT anything goes.

Iam talking pickled shirts,jean shorts and no shoes kind of anything goes.

 

 

Decided to take a trip to palm springs and now iam completely spoiled. The less rated courses had greens rolling 11's however they were

the purest greens i have ever rolled the rock on. The fairway to rough edges were perfectly cut, it looked like they hand carved

the bunkers with a chisel. The tee boxes were as flat as a table. The fairways were rolling 8's !.

 

 

 

Just wanted to know if anyone here feels the same way after going to golf paradise.

from So Cal and i usually go up to PS a few times during the year and i love the courses there. The Stadium Course at TPC is awesome and so is Indian Wells. My friends and I do a annual golf tournament in the summer when the courses are like 50% off and while its hot as heck, they are still in top notch shape and you cant beat the prices.

A lot easier to keep the course in tip top shape when the humidity level is low and the course can control exactly how much water the greens get

Agree completely. Palm Springs is my favorite spot to golf, but unfortunately I don't get out of Texas much anymore. If you can give the desert a shot in the summer. Not much play and great rates as long as you can stand the heat. But, as they say, it's a DRY heat, so hydrate and then hydrate some more and it's more than tolerable.

Living in San Diego I already considered myself spoiled however I played the Nicklaus and Palmer private at PGA West last month and WOW......!!!!!!!!
Simply amazing and hard to describe to those who have never experienced such conditions.
Contrary to the belief of those who have it, I believe that $$$$$ can buy happiness....ie...(a PGA West membership)

I was just in Palm Springs myself and second all you have mentioned. The greens rolled like ice.

Yes it hard to get excited about playing our local courses after playing a bunch of rounds in the Palm Springs area.

As we always say when down there " we don'st got nothin like this back home"

Where are you playing in Utah? There are some very nice courses in Utah that are among the best manicured courses I have ever played. I think there are a few that are on par with the Palm Springs courses you mention as well!

just doesn't get better than playing in La Quinta for me. Silver Rock is a course I could play every day and be thrilled.

Anytime I'm playing golf I'm thrilled but the cement irrigation rivers at SilverRock aren't really my thing.
