I've hit both the driver and the 3 wood. The 3 wood works great, nice and heavy and gets the ball up fairly easily. The Driver on the other did not work well for me. It is big and wide from the top like a clam. The face is shallower than most Drivers out now so it has less drag for faster swings. Ball goes a mile if you hit it just right but I could not hit it consistantly.

That driver would look so good if they just chopped the grey part off (even though it would make it smaller), and then took the alignment aid off!

The three wood looks great, I may have to look into one, but I will have to see if it can possible kick the 904 out of the bag!

Thanks for the pics, Bryan

Best thing about the driver is the Diamana shaft which apparently tests out really well compared to Diamanas from Mitsubishi. Worse thing about the driver is every thing else - setup, looks, size, color, sound, ballflight, it's a dud.

Pretty soon Nike (and TM for that matter) is going to have realize that we are not stupid and will buy anything. The "more distance" marketing is nothing more than lies, it's like watching an informercial.

You should check out Tour version. There was one at EW last week and it looked exactly how just described it. I played with a MAX version today and didn't have much trouble with it. I thought it was pretty damn nice although I would say distance didn't seem to be as great as with some other drivers. I was playing a new course so we'll see this weekend when I play my home course.

A local shop has the tour version and it looks pretty nice. I didn't think it was coming out until next year but there it was. And it wasn't the max. It looks a lot more traditional than the normal version. The shop told me the normal version was 15 to twenty yards shorter on the launch moniter than the g5 they tested it against. I swung the normal version against the net a little bit and it felt a little short. I pulled out the measuring stick and it was between

44 1/4 and 44 1/2. Maybe that could be the reason it's a little short distance wise.

Nice Driver, but I must resist temptation... must resist...   ... ya, I can resist.  I can't use the driver I've got now :cheesy:

Thanks,

I thought you were using the Callaway driver? That and the Ben Hogan driver aren't working for you? Think about that for a second before buying the toaster on a stick...shaft is everything.

If the shaft is everything then it would seem like this club would be alright. If there's one thing everyone seems to agree on when it comes to the SQ is that this is a quality stock shaft...

Took my SQ 10.5 regular flex to the range today. The shaft seemed a little whippy but seems okay for my swing which is smooth -- not a hitter. This is the easiest driver I ever hit and very forgiving. I did not expect this from a face not as deep as my R5 TP. It is a keeper!!

I find it a little hard to get this bad boy back into the headcover. Any suggestions for a headcover??

I've got some miniature garbage bags I could sell you on the cheap--there's no way anything but the original headcover will fit around that thing!!

hehe, we have sold a couple of these, but I reckon you need to take up weightlifting to both remove and replace the headcover.

Maybe the Tour is easier to remove, but it's pretty damn hard on the retail !!! Not very well thought out IMHO. :cheesy:

Well I fell for the hype and bought the SQ driver and 3 wood. I demoed with a launch monitor against Nike Ignite driver and the new Mizuno.

The big head did not bother me, it actually gave me more confidence that their was no way I am going to miss the sweepspot. When I had a good swing and hit it square the launch monitor numbers looked good. When I miss-hit or had a off swing the numbes where poor. Just like all the other drivers I tested. I was in the market for a new driver and 3-wood and figured I would give them a shot.

If they turn out to be duds I can trade them back in (probably 50 cents on the dollar) and get something else.
