The Romaro 435 is a monster if you fight a high ball flight for sure, as long or longer than any of the multitude I've tried but if you're looking for a mid flight either go up in loft or stay away. Looks and sounds and feels better than Jbeam or Crazy 435 and just as long IMO.

So quick update. I took a crazy gamble and ended up with a masda 430. Supposed to be low spin. Paired it with the aforementioned speeder 6.3. The head is 10.5*. My ghetto math and physics said low launch low spin head with low launch low spin shaft paired with increased loft = high launch low spin combo. So far, results have been exactly that. High high balls (to me they are) with good carry and better rollout. I have hit some awesome carry distances with this combo. No technical numbers, but on courses I play this has landed in places where my old drives use to finish. Add about 10-15 yds of roll and there is my increased distance. There is a good thread on here regarding Masda. Some controversy regarding origins and QC of the manufacturer...but proof is in the pudding. So far pleased with the results. Really excited to see how this performs once I break it in and the temps get above 40*. With that said...makes me wonder what a "proven" head like the ryoma, s yard, or jbeam/crazy can do. Hmmm.....

How would the Fourteen CT112 driver compare with the S-Yard T388?

I am a bit hesitant to get a 388cc driver. But it does sound like the T388 is one of the best JDM drivers out there.

Anyone with a 100mph swing speed play a Fourteen CT112? What loft/shaft did you get?
The CT 112 is the longest hitting JDM driver Ive ever hit. i USE THE 10.5 WITH THE STOCK S shaft. MY ss is 100 to 105 most times with a smooth tempo. THe stock shaft is 47 inches long (not to everyones liking), but this setup works for me. Control has not been a problem.

The T338 is not as hard to hit as you would think for a sub 400 cc head. It is one of the straightest hitting drivers Ive ever used. A boring stinger shot most times. It rewards a pure strike as well and any driver Ive ever hit, and rollout and angle of descent 2nd to none.

interesting..,Masda...I've been pretty hard core JDM for years and haven't seen much of that brand...that's another diff btw us (China made) and JDM, all JDM is pretty good, even their obscure small brand stuff...now that you've dipped your toe in the water I predict another purchase soon.

you're an interesting case a/p, I would say T.388 but the fact that you rely more on strength than technique and you are looking for straight forgiveness makes me lean toward Ryoma. the t.388 iwould work great at your swing speed and would prob be the longest for you with the roll out (jBEAM 435 prolly a little more carry).

that said if you want something that will improve your score (often not the top priority with driver) I'll lobby you again for my fav (when it comes to consistently hitting fairways) the epon 103. no other driver I've had flat out performs like this head all around. it's not the longest but in terms of sound (very important to me), feel, look and forgiveness it just can't be beat. you may want to look at the 153 as well, have heard good things...

keep on ho'ing JDM baby!

Free, yup Masda. It's a great head and pairs well with the speeder. Honestly though, I feel like I am throwing it way too high, even though I know high is good. My shots don't balloon, they just start on a good line and keep going up. I've tried to keep it down a couple of times and either a) not skilled enough or b) this thing just wants to touch the clouds. Probably A but dang I'm so used to a lower ball flight. I've always played lower lofts to help cut some of my spin. Either way can't really argue with results...however...really curious how I would do with the 388. But I just dropped some pretty decent coin on my current set up, can't really see myself with another $$$ driver...but the 388 is tempting!

Has anyone hit the Fourteen CT214 gelong?

From what I gather from reading these forums, the drivers to try are:

S-Yard T388
Romaro D1
Fourteen CT112

Is it true that Miura and Epon aren't popular in Japan?
From the guys at Tsg, Epon has virtually no presence in Japan. Not sure on Miura.

Im pretty sure that Epon has a big presence in Japan. As for Japan tour it may have little to no presence but the irons are well received out in japan and demand a premium. Just check out Yahoo Japan auctions and you will see a lot of Epon gear and they are not selling it for cheap either. They are well made clubs and do not change design much throughout the years.

Also looking for feedback from anybody that's tried the new Fourteen Gelong CT214. I'm going to a demo day tomorrow to check it out. Not sure how I'm going to hit it with the longer stock shaft but it seems like they did everything possible to maximize distance (i.e. hotter face, CG weighting, shaft length and characteristics). It's pretty much built for long drive comps. I'm hoping they have a launch monitor to compare with my stock driver.

I find that Yamaha drivers are always good in their quality and even their stock shaft is superbly smooth. The distance is amazingly long & easy to load and launch. Had a couple of them but sold them as the stock shaft is too long (usually 45.5-46 inch) and sacrifice a bit of control whenever I try to exert more force. Did try to trim the shafts but the balance and feel goes haywire.

Went back to Titleist 913D2. The consistency on the golf course is much better with the shorter shaft but there is a lack of solid feel that JDM drivers gave me. Finally pull the trigger yesterday and bought a Yamaha V425 Tour with 45" Ahina. Hopefully, this will end my search for my "best bomber".

I love my Royal Collection JP104. You can find them cheap and it's a straight to slight fade bomber for me.

Some of the JDMs are pretty demanding. The jbeam 435 and 435r are long but they need a good swing. I went back to my G25 with a bb6 shaft Sunday on a tighter course and it was easy. The Trpx is forgiving and I haven't hit my Ryoma yet.

Epon market share in Japan is statistically zero. Miura as well. They are niche brands designed and marketed for the foreign market.

I'd have to guess the JDM version of the SLDR in black would have to be the longest now

I've had my 435 for about a month now and I've never hit anything like it. It's 10-15 yards longer than the 8.5 RFE I was gaming all of last year. Not too fond of the sound, but the ball explodes off the face. That said, the most amazing part of the combo is the shaft. I swing 117-120 and the La Bomba shaft is unlike anything I've ever swung - and I've swung them all. At that price point, hell yeah, it should be amazing. But it really is. I doubt I will ever snap hook a drive again. Outside of a dead pull, this combo has taken the left side out completely. I hit 12 of 14 fairways yesterday with one block and one pull. Everything was about a 5 yard fade and LONG. I will say that I'm a low handicap with a fairly repetitive swing. On the range, anything that isn't hit purely, doesn't go very well. It's still straight, but it's not a very forgiving stick. But when hit pure....wow.

I bought mine slightly used at about 50% of retail. Definitely couldn't justify full boat on the stick.

From my personal opinion and observation the Fourteen DT111 driver was very long. The launch and spin numbers were great and it carried and rolled out the longest out of the 3 I tested. FYI: the other 2 drivers were the SLDR and Callaway BBA.

I would love to demo more JDM drivers but unfortunately we get them brand new and have to build them for customers.

kamui pro typhoon ( for anyone)
ryoma maxima

trpx is a finicky one , needs to be shfted well. some shafts in it dont mix , but that is one hell of an accurate head, that takes some beating if u wanna hit it striaght a lot. same as the ryoma v-spec

they might not suit everone but stong players most definatly wud benefit form any of these.
for an older one, callaway erc 3 is excellent.

Is that list in any particular order? I'm curious because if my list was in order it would look pretty close!

Took my Crazy 435 driver with Crazy LS Noir shaft out yesterday. While it does hit long bombs, it is not the most forgiving driver. If my swing is off a touch, the results aren't great. Debating whether I should try and sell it.
