was able to chip and putt ok today, I think my hand should be good to go by Friday if anyone is up for a round
This looks suspiciously similar to this quote of ESPN: "Woods only practiced his chipping and putting Wednesday and did not hit full shots or play any practice holes, trying to be careful with a lower back that gave..." So we have our Tiger in this group.
I hope you can putt better then he did today.

I just want a very healthy Dom for the 28th. So for now, no heavy lifting or golfing, just putts.

My putting has gone pretty bad this year. Most of that is hardly playing but I went from averaging under 30 putts a round last year to averaging 35 a round this year and its simply not making the ones that you need to make, the 6 footers for par, the 15 footers for birdie, they have all done their best to miss the cup this year. I saw signs of improvement the last few times out but still not how I'd like to be.

Les Bolstad is an older, tree lined course. Not terribly long as I remember it. Not insanely difficult, but the trees won't let you spray it all over, either. I like to think of it as similar to Francis Gross. <shrug>
edited to add: I haven't played there in quite a few years, have no idea of the course conditions.

Edinburgh USA is considerably different. Bent fairways, a LOT of bunkers, healthy amount of water danger, winds its way through housing, rather difficult. Back nine has a stretch where you go down the tree lined chute, and back the other way in another tree lined chute, to get to the famous, island fairway 17th hole. Not particularly a fan of Edinburgh, and not because it beats me up every time I play there; I think one of the par 5s on the front is a little tricked up, and I don't care for courses with houses everywhere.

Such is my take. <shrug>

Yeah, U of M course is OK. Pretty tight. Very land-locked course with some holes/greens very near OB fences. Interesting old school architecture. Tom Vardon, brother of the famous Harry Vardon, designed it. Definitely a fun track and not very long. Easily walkable. Conditions can be hit or miss. Wasn't impressed last year and haven't been back this year. With their proximity to one another, you might just want to play Gross instead. I hope the U gets the money they need for the course/clubhouse re-do. It has a certain charm about it. They did cooler things with dirt way back when.

Edinburgh is a fun track, but VERY target-oriented golf. High slop rating of 140 makes it one of the toughest municipal courses in the country, in fact.
Because it's so tough, you can pretty well count on a 5+ hour round. I think the waiting makes it tougher than it could be. Hard to get into a rhythm quite often. Little snooty in their attitude there and the green fees are not worth it, IMO. Plus the pro, Don Berry, is one of the biggest jerks you'll meet.
I swore off Edinburgh until they get a new pro. Fall conditions SUCKED last fall when I was there and they charged ful rack rate green fees (about $60 walking as I recall; most I paid all year to play) for greens that putted like waffles, AND it took 5:20. Don Berry said the greens were just fine, and was quite proud of the number of golfers he had pushed through the track that day and made me to feel like just another green fee in the till. He did e-mail me to apologize afterward, but the damage was done. Jerk. So yeah, Edinburgh. LOL! Muni trying to be upscale.

I remember several years ago, I played there on the day they opened. They used to have their tee times spaced 9 minutes apart, but for the season in question, they'd reduced them to 8 minutes apart. And then had the audacity to give everyone a lecture on the first hole about pace of play.

Um, yeah.

Great day at Pheasant Acres today. Big thanks to NRJYZER for hosting me. Nice day out there, and a new track for me.
Even 71! Woot! Even got to see some other WRX'ers out there unexpectedly after our round. Fun day.

Dude, enjoyed today's round, was a good time. And thanks for letting me experience the joy that is the Cleveland Classic XL Custom with Black Tie. Chocolatey goodness. :)

After thinking about it on the drive home, I went out on the bay and scored a 7m3 for the Covert. May well have it in time for the Big Event at Bulrush.

Typical me, buying stuff at the end of the season. LOL

I've swapped out even more than that over the past few weeks. Looks like the driver will be all that survives by the end of the week. In fairness though, I didn't totally change my irons. Same heads, same shafts, just different weighting and grips. The wedges are all new, new putter, new FW wood too. Been hitting a different ball too.

This is the time of year that I change out my equipment as well. I love playing in the fall and toying with equipment makes it all the more fun.

Speaking of fall golf, I think that I'm in for the 28th. Looking forward to it!

I woudn't say they are "blades" but they are a sexy and a lot easier to control than my old irons. Cobra is still in te bag but the TEE hybrid is gonna go and the cleveland might be replaced with an rbz tour spoon with oban devotion I fou yesterday.

Just bought one last week in BST. It's only a stock stiff, I've hit it once and hooked it to White Bear Lake from Corcoran, so I'm waiting on a shaft. Bought a Black Tie on ebay last night. :)

Get the Cleveland XL Custom then with the Black Tie. $199 full retail right now. INSANELY good deal!
This driver is the boom-diggity. Sleeper of 2013 for sure. No one seems to be talking about it. They should be.
