MN WRX at Bulrush Golf Club September 28th 1 PM

Recommended Posts

Hole 10 508 yards Par 5

The starting hole on the backside at Bulrush is a straight forward par 5 with OB running down the right side and a water hazard running down the left. Long hitters will have a good look at the green in two. If you can not reach the green in 2, pay attention to the pin location as the green is 36 yards deep and has a ridge sloping towards the back of the green.

Hole 11 417 yards Par 4

Starting on the 11[sup]th[/sup] hole the backside begins to tighten up and become tree lined. A draw is a must for longer hitters although it brings a pond into play if you really boom one. A small green is protected by a bunker on the left side. Short of the green is the safe play leaving a good chance at getting up and down for par.

Hole 12 200 yards Par 3

The 12[sup]th[/sup] hole is the most difficult par 3 on the golf course. It play slightly uphill to a green that is not very deep, although it is deceptively wide. A bunker protects the right side of the green.

Hole 13 411 yards Par 4

Bulrush Golf Club's signature hole, the 13[sup]th[/sup] is a tough golf hole requiring an accurate drive and an accurate approach shot to a small green. Par is a good score on this hole.

Hole 14 586 yards Par 5

A large oak tree looms on the distance in the right third of the fairway and lends itself a good aiming point for those not playing the aggressive play down the left side of this dogleg par 5. An uphill approach to a large sloped green renders birdies only to those who hit one close to the pin.

Hole 15 159 yards Par 3

A relatively short par 3 that plays similar in distance to the second hole, the 15[sup]th[/sup] requires you to pay careful attention to wind direction. There is a carry over a marsh to a green that is protected on the front left by a large bunker. The green slopes from back left to front right and you will be left with a tricky putt from above the pin.

Hole 16 395 yards Par 4

The 16[sup]th[/sup] at Bulrush Golf Club puts a premium on distance control off the tee as much as it does on accuracy. There is a marsh between the landing area off the tee and the green which can lead to a blind shot. To have a clear look at the green, one must hit the ball down the left side of the fairway, which brings more trouble into play than the right. The green is another small green that slopes from back to front.

Hole 17 412 yards Par 4

17 is another hole that requires an accurate tee shot to avoid a hazard down the left side of the hole and a hazard on the right side that narrows the fairway around the 100 yard marker. A large green that slopes from back left to front right requires proper club selection to put the ball close.

Hole 18 370 yards Par 4

A great finishing hole 18 will yield birdies to those who hit good shots and force bogies to those who hit wayward tee shots. The aggressive play is driver off the tee which will leave a short wedge into a relatively flat green. A hybrid of fairway wood will leave a short iron in and can still give you a good chance at birdie.

Bringing my cb3's unless I trade them in and get enough value to get those scratches I was eying up last time we were there. Also my Scor wedges came and I love them but I might have to part with them to get the scratch irons we will see.
[/quote]

On that note, I have a set of black chrome 680's that I'd love to part with. Any interest? I can bring them along.

I had enough fun today with my own, without having to adjust to someone else's. Ugh.

BTW, the Nike was a disaster today. Was close to green high off the tee with it on the first hole, but thereafter, it was hook city, even with the 7m3. Finally switched back to my R11s with the TT100 and was ripping tee shots on the back nine.

Going to add a bit of lead tape (it feels light) and maybe cut it down to 45" (currently 45½").

I didn't want to do that during the round, since we were playing a fourball match. Then again, I had 15 clubs in the bag, as did one of my opponents, so I don't think it would have mattered much. LOL
(we're not that hardcore about the odd extra club)

But you're right, dude, I should open that stuff up...

The greens are the best part about the course, they were rolling quick today. We don't have to punch them because they are all USGA spec greens, at the end of October the will do some of the super small plugs but that's it.Btw, want to pm me your handicap and name?

Radar not looking too ominous. Down to a 15% chance of rain on Weather.com until 1:00, and then ZERO% after 2:00.
Gentlemen, we be playin' golf it looks like.
Never mind the 17+ MPH winds. "Breezy."
[/quote]

That's a pretty normal wind up here to be honest. Most holes will be a crosswind but there will be a handful into/against it

The D+ again. Don't think I'm ready to get rid of it yet though.

And I think I might keep the blades to mess around with. For the price it's not going to kill me.
