Epon AF303 Aerotech i-95's No1's

My Opinion

Should have indeed been labeled a "4" Series. For the Epon models
it fits right between the 3 and 5 series. I'm going to say it's on the
larger end of the Players Cavity back. Wouldn't go as far as to call it
a game Improvement Iron.

So keep in mind I'm trying to compare it with the larger Players Cavity
Backs but most of all the 302's. Heel to toe it's really not any larger, the
extra bulk is down low toward the sole where the extra meat lies. The sole
being slightly wider than the 302's.

Looks/Finish: Typical Epon Quality. The Satin finish is outstanding and
very tastefully done. Holding and checking these out in hand compared
to the pictures when they were first released are absolutely night and day
different. Tolerances, build and finish are as good as it gets. It's a great
feeling knowing you are holding an Iron that is unmatched in quality,
craftsmanship and materials. Def gives off the warm fuzzy feeling new
Irons are supposed to exude.

Offset: Compared to other Irons in this Class the offset is minimal. Without
measuring the difference I would say it's close to the same as the 302's
No goose neck in any way.

Distance: 1/2 club longer than the 302's. Seemingly a full club longer than
a typical Blade Iron. Distance is close to that of a GI or even a SGI Iron.
I found reasonable mishits to still came out well. This club is absolutely
more forgiving than the 302's. No contest.

Feel: Solid. They feel the way you would hope or expect them to. They
are not the 302 soft. Is there such a thing as a soft, crisp very subdued
feel? Off center hits still feel decent with very reasonable feed back.
"It's the kind of feel you have to stop and think about it" You keep
thinking how good that shot really felt. Did I mention Solid?

I played 4-PW+AW

1st time I've carried a 4 iron in years. I teed off with it on two holes and
almost hit them (tee shots) too far. On the other end the AW is money.
They're an A+ For their target audience they are sensational. I seriously
cannot think of a single negative. Wait, just one. They need to shrink this
model down one notch... then it would be perfect... for me... The only
way this club could disappoint is if you're expecting a blade type club.

how would these irons compare with the Miura CB's? I'm a lefty, so my options for JDM irons is thin….
I have a good friend of mine who plays a combo set of the lefty Miura CBs & Blades .
The LH CBs are not what I would describe as forgiving at all !
You would need to be a decently consistent ball striker to game them !
If you can play confidently with blades then gaming them won't be a prob .
If you want a bit of assistance/forgiveness , I would recommend the Epons .

I love the 303s after 2 buckets, so soft and juicy. Not ready to label them a 4 series, they have 3+ series feel and 3+ series forgiveness...put em at 372....great irons though, these are ones that will be played and enjoyed....

I may consider that...the coppers may not be getting that much play going forward....

imo.....225 for a single and 1600 for 8 is a good price !
Are those realistic prices? I have no clue how much they cost.

i owned the 502's for a while too and from what i can remember they were slightly bigger overall....blade length, face, sole, topline compared to the 302's. Where as to me..the 303's only look bigger on the sole...everything else looks so close i can't tell.
Get any trackman time in a fitting or since? The 302's had such consistent high ball speed compared to every other iron at the time for me, curious if the new stuff is as good. Sounds funny to talk about high ball speed with an iron but I've played them for 150 rounds now and it leads to consistent long shots.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
