7m3 vs ......

Gentlemen I'm currently gaming an RBZ Tour TP head with a 7m3x and while I get very good results both on course and on the LM, this has to be one of the worst feeling combo's ever known to man. The RBZ face while hot is hard as a rock and loud as hell and the shaft feels a little boardy. My swing speed is 121 so it's not too much shaft but I was wondering if there is something with comparable launch and spin characteristics that may feel a little "smoother"? Interested in maybe a ~60 gram shaft also.

I've tried a lot of low-low combinations, and without a doubt the NICEST feeling and performing shaft for is the Miyazaki Kusala Black. Played the 61X and now play the 72X. Absolutely stunning shaft.

You might try one of the Fujikura Speeder VC 6.2 Tour Spec. A few other options might be the Oban Kiyoshi Black, or Fujikura Fuel 60 as well. It really depends on what you planned on spending. The Aldila RIP Phenom Nasty Long Comes to mind as well.

I was playing the black tie in many heads, and while I liked the numbers it felt boardy as well. I then tried the Tour Spec 7.2x and it was much smoother. I am sure you would feel the same thing even in a lighter weight.

I agree I have rbz tour and 7m3 stiff and it is terrible. Can't even bring myself to hit it anymore. Dead and loud.

I play the 6M3x, and love it. I have tried Fuji tour spec, it was "maybe" a bit smoother. Hard to say. Project X blue was a bit smoother and still fairly low/low. UST was smoother, but more of a medium/low.

Honestly, I like the tight feel of the 6M3, and can't argue with the results.

That's the thing though, mines an absolute rocket launcher with good dispersion. The feel is just gawd awful.

What did you switch to?

I do have an HB6 in my hybrid. I wonder if the tour driver X Blue would feel similar cause that HB6 is butter baby!

I have both 6M3 and 7M3, Aldila Trinity Black White, Project X 6C12 Tour Issue, Fujikura Fuel 60 Tour Spec but still play Fujikura Motore Speeder Tour Spec 6.3 which is somewhat harsh. Of those I have, the best feeling shafts are between Project X 6C12 Tour Issue and Fuel 60 Tour Spec. I prefer a bit harsher feel, probably why I still love PX 6.0 in my irons.

I have a 7m3 in a Covert and love it. Doesn't feel dead or harsh to me.

I'm playing an S, though, and have generally been using X in my drivers and fwy woods (NV85 X in my 3 wood), except for this Black Tie and the Speeder 7.0 I just got for my R11s.

I currently game a 6m3 x in a Titleist 910, and agree that it's pretty boardy. I did really like the feel of the Fujikura Speeder VC 7.2 Tour spec way more since it felt a lot smoother. However, the numbers were too close for me to justify spending the $$$ for better feel.

Yeah all the PX shafts have that feel IMO. Even the retail 6.5 is very good. 69 grams iirc.

I have a HB6 and 10A2 in the bag. I've been through a bunch of 'em. Awesome.
