So I finally have or have had for a couple of weeks now my BS CB's. I got 4-P with the Nippon 1050 stiff. I've played this shaft before in a set of Srixon Z-TX irons and loved it, plus I trust it. I could and have played dynamic gold/modus 120, but just didn't have the overall confidence and feel with them. Plus the little extra launch with the 1050 helps for my swing, which is low to mid 80's with the 6 iron. I guess when I'm warmed up on the course it can get a little higher and that usually gets me in trouble. I really think the Modus 105 stiff would be the perfect shaft for me, but not offered by Bridgestone, and from what they told me it won't be anytime soon as they said there is not enough demand for it. A shame really, and I find their comment about demand a little hard to believe.

I literally just ordered a 4 iron 120X shaft for S+Gs, for my CBs. Would love to read your feedback on the setup when you get them.

Got out for a round last Saturday and the results were mixed. I'm normally a high ball hitter. I've played DG's my whole life and still really launch them. With the 120X's I was hitting even higher, serious sky balls. I also was having trouble getting the ball to turn over. As far as positives, the J15's seem a touch more forgiving than my J40's and I started hitting better shots towards the end of the round. Felt like I had to make a conscious effort to try to keep the flight down though. For the time being I'm going to chalk it up to a bad swing day/adjusting to the new shafts. I'm off work next week and planning on playing every day. so I should have a better idea after that. If I'm still seeing Saturday's results I'll probably just stick with the 40's rather than go to the trouble of having them reshafted. Will update with results after that.

I had the same experience with the 120x. I thought it was a lower launching shaft, but I hit the ball pretty high with them. My ballflight flattened out switching to steelfibers, but I wasn't as consistent with them. I have a set of kbs tour x's that I will try in the mb. I tried them about 6-7 years ago in my j36 mb and thought they were ok, nothing special but I figure I'd try them again. If these don't work, I will try the modus 125.

Don't bother with thr Recoil shafts either. I was hitting moon balls with them and they would ballon into a headwind. My Project X were high and boring shots into the wind. J15df has nothing on the j40 dpc. Glad I dumped the df's

Gentlemen. For those of you struggling with finding the right shaft I would highly recommend you all try the new KBS Flighted. We all want to hit our long irons higher and without excess spin. These are very solid. I've never played much kbs but these feel great. Just a thought.

CZ - sounds like you may need X flex. Mine are 120 stiff and they feel great.

Do the KBS flighted do a better job of higher launch in the long irons compared to DG pro?

Yes without a doubt. I didn't like DG pro. I would equate the new KBS FLTD to the original rifle flighted. Except a bit of weight difference.

I find myself torn between j40cb and j15cb just debating on shafts. Are the Project x flighted 6.0 that bad? What are some of the better shafts to use on these. Swing speed just over 100mph. Dont have a real high ball flight more mid and normally use dynamic gold s300 looking for upgrade.

    J15 CB > J40 CB

shafts are so personal it's hard to say. the modus has a lot of fans in these irons as well as a few other irons

Similar experience I had when I played one round with my head Pros AP2s. It took me a while to feel comfortable to release my hands without fear of it going left. In my case, i just ordered the shaft for a backup 4 iron i have, which can always use a bit mire height. Please let us know how the rounds go next week.

Just saw the CBs in person for the first time yesterday. They looked really nice but for.......the dead straight leading edge. I always liked a little belly on the leading edge of irons and wedges. I know its a a picky point but just thought Id mention for someone thinking of ordering with out seeing them. Foregoing that little nit Ill probably get a set this year with the Modus 120X to see if they can take down the Ping i3 blades Ive been playing forever it seems.

DFs are better for me in every way compared to the j40s and ap2s, but I used the same shaft in each!

No, I left them alone! Took me 2 months to get comfortable with how far I hit them, once I got use to the distance it was a game changer for me! I tried the recoil 110s in my ap2s, they weren't for me either! I still have my j40s as my backup set, still a very solid iron!

I just didn't see any gains. My DPC's were just a tad further than the DF's and the DF long irons are way tougher to hit than the DPC.

Seriously debating these in TI X100. I have the Cobra King Forged Tec which are fantastic but I hit these the other day with the stock DG Pro X100 and can't get over how good they felt.

The TI x100 shafts are sitting in my office looking for some heads to go in!

Well I took the leap - just ordered a set of J15 MB's with the Modus 120X flex shafts. While I'm not normally someone who can justify keeping 2 sets of irons, the prices you can get on DD's make it more acceptable. Not sure if I'll sell the CB's or just keep both. Leaning towards keeping both right now, but I wont rush into that decision.

Figure if I don't love the 120X's, i can either flip them with the DG Pro's in the CB's or try something new. I have the 120 in my wedge and really like it there.

Even though its still winter in Michigan, I cant wait to get these in my hands! As much as I like the CB's, I miss playing MB's at least in the shorter irons.
