M3 3 wood - anyone using and thoughts?

Recommended Posts

Went on record a month ago saying I’ll never change my 3 wood as I finally found one I love - cobra f7 with tensei pro white shaft. Great off the tee, the rails are awesome off the turf plus the feel and sound is nice.

Of course, I made the mistake of hitting my friends’ M3 15 degree yesterday and can’t get over how much I liked the feel and sound. More of a wooden baseball crack sound as opposed to the cobra’s more metal, aluminum bat sound comparatively. The feel was a little muted but not in a bad way.

Who plays one and likes it? Or don’t like it? Just for curiosity sake. Thanks

I've had it in the bag for 6 months and think it's pretty great. I love the size and shape. Excellent off the tee and turf. It's long, sometimes a bit more than I'd like. Very easy to move both ways. And like you said, the sound and feel is phenomenal. Surprisingly forgiving. The sliding weight is really easy to dial in to help with whatever your miss is.

I'm not a great fw player but improved a lot this year with the M3's (have the driver as well). I think with the right shaft in it, it's tough to beat for those who aren't looking for a larger head fw.

I have a 15* head with a tensei pro white 80 tx. Been struggling finding a 3 wood that I really like, but so far the m3 hasn’t disappointed me. Forgiveness compared to the m2 tour I had is very noticeable.

I have the 15* M3 with an Aldila RogueX and i really enjoy it. It doesn’t get a ton of use in my bag because I find myself pulling my 2 iron out more when i wanna opt for a safer shot off the tee with some distance. But when i need some added height or the shot is a little more safe it’s an excellent club. Obviously what i stated is just for my type of game and it’s pros/cons but I find it has a nice high trajectory, good feedback off the face and feels small enough where i can pick it up off the deck cleanly. Good luck!

I bought it a few months ago and didn't like it. I read your post this morning and decided to put it back in the bag for my state Mid-Am practice round today. Couldn't be happier with it. Hope it performs well the next two days for me.

I have the 15* with X stiff Tensei blue and the weight in the fade position.

I've been looking at these also. Surprised that they don't seem to be that popular? Maybe people just aren't talking about them. I love the way it looks. Definitely need to hear from those that are playing it.

Loved the size and shape but hated the feel and sound. I don't know why but mine felt like a sledgehammer. It was long though, hit some great tee shots with it but the sound and feel left me unsatisfied, as you can tell I don't have my priorities straight.

I had an M4 and actually went back and returned it. Hit a few different 3 woods and settled on paying a little bit more and walked out with the M3 (As you can see in my Sig). I absolutely love it. Playing my 3rd round tomorrow with it and have no regrets at all with the trade-in.

I’ve been hitting the M3 3HL for a few months. I have an old Diamana Ahina 70 Stiff in it. It’s really solid off the tee and better than expected off the ground. Also more forgiving than I thought it would be. I was torn between the M4 and M3 models, but went with the M3 cause I like the more compact head. I wanted the M4 Tour but they didn’t offer the 3HL this year.

If you’re playing the Cobra F7 try the F8. Really sweet feel and sound.

The M3 is nice, I played a few rounds with it. Not the most forgiving fairway wood but not the least either.

If you are trying to dial in a very specific ball flight it’s good in that regard.

Starting l like the M3. Couple rounds in, hit a green in 2 from 240 over a canyon all carry. Pretty darn good for me!

Did you mean f8 or f8+? The plus looks as compact as the M3 while the f8 no plus seems like the f7

I play the 17' M3 3w and love it. It surprises me all the time how far i can crank it. 60% of the time i put it back in the bag for my 4 iron because im scared ill overshoot it!

That is the truth, these new TM fairway woods are silly long. I play the HL for that reason, anything lower would basically be a 2nd driver.
