I like King and Bear at World Golf Village. St. John’s is solid - great greens. The best layout of all is Golf Club of North Hampton up in Fernandina Beach but can be slow.

Going up to Amelia Island is best option at number 3. You can play North Hamption, Omni or Amelia National. Option 4 is World Golf Village where everything is a false front. Option 5 is to get hammered at the beach and just play Windsor Park which is always in decent shape for price. Option 6 is Hyde Park on the westside of town - old Donald Ross course where big Saturday morning skins game is held - any of the old timers out there can drop a sneaky 64 on you with a BAC at about .2 or more. Option 7 is to jump the fence at Pablo Creek where Furyk plays. And last but not least you have Option 8 which is to throw darts and shoot pool at Pete's Bar across from Atlantic Beach. Not sure if you can tell but I used to golf in that town for years and its awesome. Now I live up in MD where everyone who can shoot 75 thinks they are ready for the tour. Have a good time!

2nd the opinion on Hyde Park. I haven't played it in several years, but it is a nice Ross layout. The PGA Tour used to play the Jacksonville Open there and they had a plaque on one of the par 3's where Ben Hogan made a big number- like a 12. Military courses are now open to the public. You just need to stop at the security office at the main gate and get an access pass. NAS Jax is a very nice course. Used to play a military invitational there when I was on active duty. Naval Station Mayport down by the ocean is also a nice course.

Timuquana, Pablo Creek, Sawgrass CC, San Jose CC and Plantantion.

I also think Deerwood is quite good or at least it used to be.

Pablo Creek might be the only one he struggles to get on.

I wouldn’t put Deerwood in the same group as those. And Timuquana is every bit as tough to get on as Pablo, and IMO a better course

Really? It used to be no problem to get on Timuquana. I definitely agree on it being a better course.

For me, I like Deerwood better than Sawgrass or San Jose but it all comes down to preference I suppose.

I’m guessing it’s been a while since you’ve played Deerwood? Sawgrass probably has the best greens in town
