Louisville Golf - Can't Speak Highly Enough

Recommended Posts

Full-disclosure I am in no way affiliated with Louisville Golf just a happy customer.

I happened to have been in Louisville last week and had a driver needing whipping and three wood with a sole plate fixed. The guys took the time to go ahead and do the driver while I waited. The three wood is going to take a little more time naturally. I got to speak with the gent who would be doing the repair and we talked about how I wished to keep the original finish if possible but in the end we all agreed that refinishing the face and the crown was necessary.

After the business side of things was over we talked at length about golf, modern clubs vs. persimmon, some of the new stuff that Louisville Golf was coming out with and their hickory clubs. I don't dabble in the hickories but if I did they had some beautiful stuff.

Long story short, if you are needing something spruced up I highly recommend them. A workshop full of guys turning out piles of wood shavings amidst some impressive looking clubs.

Agree 100% about Louisville Golf, although I've never been fortunate enough to visit the premises. I have 2 of their drivers (Limited Edition Dogwood & a newly bought 693MS - both Classic 50's series style), 2,3 & 4 woods, and usually play the 1, 2 & 4 woods. The clubs are wonderful, made with great craftsmanship & attention to detail. They've also been very courteous & professional whenever I've bought clubs from them online. My only regret is that I would like to get the Dogwood driver refinished, but I live in Australia, and I'm worried about sending the club back to them & having it get lost in the shipment, because I'll never get another one like it!

Got my three wood back yesterday and they did a really fine job of fixing a rough club while still not losing the factory fresh look. They were able to keep the speed slot label that was important to me to save if possible. The sole plate was a complete disaster that I admittedly did not help with my hammer handed hammering. They even repaired some sky marks that were on the club when I got it and were able to keep the Ben Hogan signature on the crown as well. I will add some pics when I get back from the course.

Let's try a little before and after with the new forum format.

After refurb from Louisville Golf. Keep in mind it was not a full refinish. I specifically asked them to keep the speed slot decal on the toe. I think they did a great job matching the stain to what was there and keeping the original factory look.

I used to love refurbing wooden woods, used to average about 100 a week back in the early 90's, had a continuous production line going with woods at various stages of refurb. Could hand file bulge and roll with my eyes shut... Very satisfying work back then...

Yes, but I was tearing it up more every time I used it. The lead weight under to the soleplate had come loose and with every swing I was hammering the underside of the plate causing it to separate more and become more bent. Also, the gap between the wood and soleplate would grab grass and it would get stuck in there.

They also fixed the swingweight and that made a huge difference in playability for me with that club. It was too light prior to the refurb. Now it is a real tool off the tee and off the deck.

I also have been a very satisfied Louisville Golf customer for many years. They have refurbished a number of classic persimmon clubs as well as hickory shafted clubs. I have also purchased several new hickory clubs and putters from them over the years. Excellent quality and reasonable prices - hard to go wrong!!

Just an older guy with 7 or 8 clubs and a MacKenzie Sunday Walker bag

I really want to purchase a classic 50 driver from them off the website, The idea of having my own Persimmon that is not used is nice. but i cant decide if i want S300 or X100 steel shaft. anyway from afar everything looks classy
