Waterbury CT Golf Courses Nearby

Headed to Waterbury CT in August for work and want to play some golf in the afternoon. What are the good courses around? I'd be willing to drive 45 minutes.

Oxford Greens is fairly close and one of the better public courses in CT. Timberlin within 30 minutes and also is a nice course.

Agreed, Oxford Greens is probably your best public option near Waterbury. CC of Waterbury is a really good Ross course if you have access to privates.

Richter park in Danbury is one of the nicer public tracks in the state. It's about 35 highway miles from Waterbury, but traffic on I-84 can stretch out your drive time 20-30 minutes.

Played Oxford a month or so ago and it was in the worst shape I have ever seen it. Greens beat up, rocks and dirt rather then sand in the bunkers, etc. last year I know Richter was in rough shape from all the heat and rain we had in August, can’t confirm if it has improved this year. I would look at Keney Park in Hartford or maybe Timberlin.

Not sure if this already passed but Wintonbury Hills would be roughly 45 minutes from Waterbury, it's like $70 to play with a cart and it's a Pete Dye Course. Jokingly known as the best 14 hole course in New England because holes 1-4 and 10-13 are pretty much copies of each other, but it's a great layout and has a range and decent little practice area.
