Ping Outer Layer and Jackets Sale

Picked up a couple of nice Ping warm tops in their sale this week. Must say the quality of their garments is excellent. Prices have been marked down considerably and I should imagine they are selling like 'hot cakes'. Head over to the ping website and grab yours before they are all gone.

check the sizing charts - the outerwear appears to be cut much smaller than the polo shirts.

No. The Ping outerwear runs tight.

I picked up several polos and a Norse II jacket in XL. I'm a large or XL just depending on the brand. The polos are awesome. The jacket is great except the sleeve length is slightly shorter than I'd like (I'm a 34/35 sleeve length in dress shirts). For the price you can't beat these closeouts, especially the polos, IMO.

Just snagged a couple polos and a vest, thanks for the heads up. Never worn Ping clothing before so we'll see how the sizing goes.

Before buying directly from PING, take a look at TGW first. They have been selling PING apparel at huge discounts since early December. For the purpose of sizing, Polos and Tshirts are standard American sizes. All other apparel is Euro sizing. So, your best bet is to go one size larger.

Also, if you're looking to buy a Norse II jacket from TGW, be aware that they have the description for the Zoned and regular versions of this jacket mixed up on their site. The one that they have listed as Zoned is the regular jacket and the vice versa. The photos of the two jackets are consistent with what they are selling, not the description.

Good spot Bill. TGW have some outstanding deals but looks like they are rapidly running out.

If there is something that you want, but it's not there, keep checking each morning. At those prices, I'm sure that they sold a lot before Christmas (the massive price drop began in early December). Also with the Euro sizing of Ping outerwear, I'm sure that a lot of people either bought the wrong size or bought 2 sizes to try them on and then return the other size. It appears that TGW updates their website each morning. If an item is completely out of stock, it doesn't appear on the site at all. If they receive inventory (either new or returned merchandise), that item will reappear on the site the next morning, If they run out of stock during the day, the item will stay on the site and just show as unavailable once you click on that item. I have ended up buying a LOT of PING gear that was previously out of stock (in the size that I wanted) but subsequently came back in stock. The last thing that I'm trying to buy is the Zero Gravity Vest in XL. I thought that I had it last week. But, apparently 2 of us had it in our cart at the same time and the other person beat me through checkout. I ended up getting an email that night cancelling that order.

I picked up a Norse jacket from the forums here and I'll say its the nicest jacket, golf or otherwise, I've ever worn. Fit is perfect and its warmer then my North Face and Patagonia stuff I have thats similar weight.

placed my order from Ping last weekend. site says status is completed but nothing about shipping status.

Definitely, check tgw periodically, as the Knox in XL has popped back up (additional 25% off right now), also, Norse in size M.

so after wondering when my gear would arrive, it was on the doorstep late this afternoon. gotta say the quality is very good.

based on their sizing after trying on I'm between the XL and XXL in the mid layer stuff and I don't mind a bit of room for a polo or long sleeve UA thermal.

has anyone here bought the Knox sweater ? looks like a really nice item.

wondering how that one fits real world since it's all knit.

Both the Knox and Pax sweaters are really nice. Essentially, the Pax is the Knox without the hood. Unless you're comparing the sweaters with the Herman, which I found to be larger than the other mid-layer styles, the sweaters are pretty consistent in size with the other mid-layers.
