How could anyone expect one set of irons would please everyone's tastes? I am surprised at how many crybabies are out there.
and those same people go out and buy a set of rocketbladez or RSI irons....go figure, lol

Its a mb design with a Lil cut out in middle....it's not so so different than what's already been done and it has a function for perimeter weighting.....all irons in this category look relatively same....Mizuno has done this time and time again....it's not the best iron I have seen but it looks similar enough and a Lil bit of help is good.....I like the way how precise the build is and dig the lofts.....the better I get the more concerned I am with loft and gapping....pretty cool they did something nobody else is doing....they have a pretty standard look at address for this type of club and it looks better than some others....if that sole really works like it's suppose to and feel is what it should be I am sold....the fact you can order any loft you want and doesn't change another facet of the club is outstanding.....start bending other clubs a few degrees and you change offset and bounce....these are made specific for the loft....very cool

Idk if it's just the microphone or what on Rick shiels video but a few of his shots sounded incredible.....they sounded alot different than other irons he has hit.....

Huge mistake to make a beautiful classic club and then choose to put loft numbers on the sole instead of traditional club numbers. If I'm standing in the fairway, I'm thinking 5 or 6, not 27 or 31. If you are going to make a classic club, keep it classic all over. I really like the looks otherwise, but the loft numbers alone ruin the club for me.
How long do you think it would take for you to figure out how far you hit your 27 or 31?
no chit.....you do it with your wedges, it will take all of about 2 or 3 rounds to not even think about it after that....we use lofts for every club except irons and it's not even that hard....if it is than prolly not for you......for me I much rather have loft over number and I am not used to it.....2 rounds and I'll have it dialed....

I agree. I've always used older clubs with traditional lofts, so my 5 iron is most peoples 6 or maybe 7 iron. In order to understand what clubs I would want I would need to select by loft anyways. I always saw Ben Hogan clubs to have innovation & this is an innovation that puts an end to all the useless marketing talk about hitting your irons 15yds. longer each year. Seems to me those are the people who would be most upset by not having a number stamped on their club. Anytime you get new sticks you need to spend some time finding out how far you hit each one, so now it's "I hit the club marked "40" 150yds." rather than "I hit the club marked "8" 150yds" Sorry I don't see the difference really.

For competitive players there would be an advantage. Scenario; Two players in a match on the tee of a long Par 3. The match is close, the wind is swirling. Player #1 discusses with his caddie, pulls club & steps to the tee. Player #2 says to caddie "What's he hitting?", caddie looks in Player #1's bag to see what's missing. "???" "Looks like the club between 24 & 31. so maybe 27." Player #1 asks caddie "Which of mine is that?" Caddie shoots Player #1 a nasty look "How the He&& should I know?". ;)
lol, that's some funny chit...

New owner of Ben Hogan FW15 irons and TK15 wedges.
23*, 27*, 31*, 35*, 39*, 41*, 43*, 47* for FW15 w/ KBS Tour 90 Stiff
51*, 55* and 59* for TK15 w/ KBS Tour 90 Stiff
Feel is really great. Address profile is slightly wider than my Titleist Tour Model used in college.
Width of top line is not a disconcerting as you would think, especially when you start hitting.
Shafts feel great but trajectory is higher than TTDGSL S300 but distances are similar. Variable slightly for loft adjustments.
Well satisfied at this time.
Really think these were well worth the investment..

This is probably off topic from this thread. My apologies in advance. But i like to ask for some wisdom from all fellow WRXers.

I just purchased a set with the Recoil 660 F3 shafts from ebay. I tried it and they definitely were much easier to hit than i thought. Nice! But then when i hit my 5 iron (25*), no matter how i swing it, the trajectory comes very flat, and the feeling was a little off.

I inspected my clubs when i got home. And found that the graphics on the shafts don't align. Don't know if this is normal or OK for parallel shafts but with the weird feel, i am blaming the shaft installation...

IMG_20150919_212725879_0.jpg

The logos don't align on the clubs. Looks like random trimming from the butts.

So i compare a Apex 9 iron (41*) with the Ben Hogan. The shaft trimming is very different.

IMG_20150919_212946439_1.jpg

What doesn't make sense to me is if i look at the 41* (right) and 45* (left), they appear the 45* has trimmed less from the butt.

IMG_20150919_213425382_2.jpg

IMG_20150919_213454720_3.jpg

Is there something wrong with the way the shafts are installed?

Thanks for your input.
Hey Square, I hope all's well and you're having a nice season :)

A couple of things-

Whether ya like him or or the Hogan irons not is one thing and your prerogative however Rick Shiels is a very very well respected Pro/Teacher along with being being a great Guy and while I do not use the word "wanker," I take it that it's the equivalent of my use of "jerk off," and Rick's the furthest Gent from being a "jerk-off."

Secondly, tempo, like most things in this game, especially at the Player's and Pro's level, is an individual thing.

There is no fast or slow if the Player is a ball striker-

Rick is a ball striker!!

Well, take care Bro and the best to ya :)

Richard

177 yard 8 iron ? The guy is swinging out of his shoes (much too fast of a tempo) and, or, using a jacked up yardage machine. I call wanker rather than true player.

Square. Do you have to troll every thread? This crap is getting old. How have the Raiders been doing the last decade or so? My guess is you really are Jamarcus Russell and are doing for golf what you did for the Raiders.

Has anyone seen these? They look like they may have a compact, blade-like look at impact.

Has anyone actually hit any of the wedges? I might be interested in the 58*.

Thanks.

Swing Speed and Tempo are two totally different issues-

Also, who knows what the loft of that 8i is-

He's a Pro, he's got decent tempo, lol

Stay Well bro :)

All the Best,
Richard
