What wedge bounce on your wedges?

I like the idea of having wedges with different bounces for more versatility. If you have two wedges in the bag which wedge would have the low bounce and which wedge would have the higher bounce? Say you are looking at a 56 & 60.

 

**Would you pick a wedge with the low bounce on the 56 or the 60?**

 

Here are the bounce options that Vokey provides:

* 56.08 M, 56.10 S, 56.14 F

* 60.04 L, 60.08 M, 60.10 S, 60.12 D, 60.14 K

 

Here are a couple of options

* 56.08 M & 60.12 D

* 56.10 S & 60.08 M

* 56.08 M & 60.08 M

 

I know there are different grinds which also make a big difference but for now I was just looking for thoughts on bounce. Thanks!

i have sm6s 56.14 F and 60.04 L and like them a lot. they complement each other really well. i play the 60 out of the bunker and love the low bounce for that. also use on rare flops from the rough where im short sided and tight lies around the green. 56 i play for everything else. i play a lot of bump and runs and the high bounce is perfect for my technique. cuts through sticky rough easily when in the thick stuff and im more consistent with every other shot. more margin for error. on full shots both work well also but id probably prefer the higher bounce but i rarely hit a full 60. i would just be sure to buy from somewhere with a 90 day satisfaction guarantee bc it took me a while to find what i liked. also had the 56 10 S and 60 12 K and even though i spent hours in the store comparing the various bounces it wasnt till i really put them through the paces on the course that i got to understand what i really liked.

 

 

i think 56.10 S & 60.08 M would be a good starting point. kind of depends which club you like to use most around the greeen

Depends on time of year but here is south Louisiana.... where it is WET... I use high bounce wedges exclusively. Ten deg in 52 and 56. Recently went to 52 and 58 Vegas vw 10. Like the grind and suit me well.

I have a 52.08 bent to 51, so it is at 7 degrees of bounce, a 56.10 bent to 55 so it has 9 degrees of bounce, and a 60.04 bent to 59 so it has 3 degrees of bounce. I have always preferred a low bounce on my highest lofted wedge and more in the middle with the sand wedge.

High bounce on the 56*, and lower bounce on 60*. I would use the 56* for bunker shots, and would want more bounce.

Bounce is irrelevant. Everyone measures effective bounce differently. Don’t try to tell me the Vokey L grind only has 4° of bounce. lol

 

Go get fit for the right grind. Bounce will take care of itself from there. Go ask Edel, JPs wedges, and National Custom. They will be real with you about bounce

Interesting from a guy with Ping and Vokey wedges in his bag. Just saying.

I know right? Those particular grinds fit me. I’m not loyal to any brand. Lol.
