Is this Titleist 915D3 too cheap to be real?

Hi everyone, I just got this Titleist 915D3 from eBay.

The seller has only 41 reviews but registered since 2004.

He suddenly had many 915D3 and 915D2 listed on eBay with different loft and shaft.

It looked weird to me but I was willing take a risk since I can return it anyway.

I also recently got eBay gift card for 20%, so the price was very attractive to me.

However, before sending it to me, he notified me that it has a small blemish on the crown of the club and offered be additional $50off.

In the end, I paid $320-$50-20%off = $216. The $320 price is too cheap to be authentic.

 

I compared the club with all the pictures I could find online. It looks pretty much the same.

 

What do you guys think about the club?

I have that club and it looks identical. 1, 320 isn't cheap for someone who buys in bulk. The boxers rape you. 2, maybe he stole them and 320 is all profit! Haha. I think you're ok.

$320 sounds legit and the 20% off is from eBay not the seller.

Ask for the serial number and contact Titleist. They will run it and confirm if it is legit or stolen.

You sure about that? Ive called a couple times and they don't run anything for me, they just tell me "If you bought it through an authorized retailer, there is nothing to worry about".

I've emailed Titleist before with a serial number on a Scotty and they came back with the specs and the club and they checked out. The initial response took a while, but when I received contact it was a quick turnaround time.

I had a similar situation earlier in the year. I called Titleist and with the serial number on the head they gave me the loft, shaft, and what region the club was purchased.

Unfortunately, serial numbers can be copied, so even if the number matches one in the system, that doesn't always mean you're in the clear. I've been told those exact words by Titleist, and many other manufacturers. However, that driver looks good.

Called titleist to verify a vokey wedge, I bought a 56 and the serial number was for a left hand 54. Called eBay and got my money back and gave the club away

Yeah, I figured that, but I'd imagine that not many counterfeiters would purchase an identical item just to copy the serial number over and over again. Or if they would attain serials numbers for multiple lofts of a 915

^It's as easy as walking into a golf store and copying serials off every club in stock to use on their counterfeit clubs. They don't have to buy anything.
