I didn't have a chance to play this weekend (Mother's Day), but I did get a chance to hit the range at 8:00pm last night. I concentrated on my long irons and tested out refinements I made to my 4-wood: had it cut down to 42.25" (from 43.00"), 0.25" tipped, and added a few strips of lead tape to bring her back up to D1.

I'm testing out a new putter, and seems to be working out fine. I had to get back to face-balanced. More later.

I was thinking the other day how cool it would be to do a Golf Digest WITB picture, and here i was thinking id be the first you've set the bar and i hope in the coming weeks when i get mine up, it can turn out half as good as yours has, well done

You've got this WITB shot Collo. Take time to setup the frame, clean background, and good even back and side light. When you have all this ready shoot with a wide angle lens (20-28mm). Super easy.

You are the devil on my shoulder. While there's nothing wrong with my R1 (especially how I have it setup), I keep eyeing the new i25. My plan is to wait until December/January to take a serious look at one, and get fit properly...that's the plan at least.

I was struggling finding my target line with a toe-hanging putter, the Odyssey Versa 330M, for the first several months this year. With some pro shop credit to burn I picked up a [size=4]Ping Scottsdale TR Craz-e. It is super easy to find the target line and this model favors my straight arc approach. It took a week or so to get comfortable with distance control, but I am liking the weight distribution of this club. It's not as sexy as a Scotty blade, but this may end up being a good fit this season.[/size]

My scoring has improved nicely the last couple two-man tournaments and rounds. Individual rounds have been 78 (GHIN 5.0), 78 (GHIN 5.0), and this morning a 2 under 70 (GHIN -2.1). The round from today was so good it still has me imagining illusions of grandeur!

For a little different take on WITB, I'm switching it up to What's In The Building.

Here are a few shots of a project that we are wrapping up for a private golf course. It's a indoor short game practice facility at The Blessings Golf Course, where the University of Arkansas mens' and womens' teams call home. Stacy Lewis, a UA alum, gave a generous donation to get this project started. Dave Pelz worked with us to design the interior landscape.

East entry. The yellow plastic is covering three 15-foot putting squares that are 1%, 2%, and 3% slope. The exposed putting square is 4%.

My history with my 20º hybrid has been a complicated one at best, as hooking is the biggest culprit. Often times though my ball flight is in the 75-foot range, where ideally I’d like it around 90-feet to be able to hold greens. This comes from catching it a little thin at times. My 4-iron and I get along fine, so I am thinking about picking up the i25 3-iron as well to replace the hybrid. The 7-wood has been recommended as an option as well.

On the less costly side I may pick up both a i25 3-iron and G25 7-wood, then have them fight for a spot in my bag.

To step it up a little (and since I am doing some rework anyway), why not go all the way and look at the new G30 driver and fairways woods...and the i25 3-iron?

A fresh supply of Titleist ProV1X balls arrived! I like to pick up AAAAA grade balls from reputable online shops. They give great bang for the buck, and this grade of ball is basically new with either stamps or player markings.

My 3-iron just arrived! Same KBS Tour 120 S shaft, and had it bent 1[size=3][color=#545454]° [/color][/size][size=3]weak from 21 to 22.[/size]
I won't have a chance to play with it for another week or so though.

I went in to get the top end of my bag refit last week. A new driver and 5-wood are being built now!
