Another example of some amazing work put out by the custom shop! I have yet to see a putter refinish that hasn't come back looking brand new...

2) Before and after pictures are awesome. It makes the custom shop photos so much more enjoyable.

The Oil Can finishes that are coming out of the studio, lately are incredible. Yours is AWESOME!

They never cease to amaze me in the work they can put out. I have had several done and am blown away, each time.

Does the feel change after a restore job? Typically, how much weight is removed from re-milling?

Depends on how much milling is done, but I'd say only a few grams. Also take into consideration how much the rest of the putter is dinged up. The better the shape the less sanding/buffing of the topline and elsewhere is needed.

My oilcan is there right now, seeing all these before and after pics gets me antsy; I can't wait to get mine back. Sadly it arrived there on March 5th so I've still got a ways to wait.

Glad they got the oilcan finish figured out... Looks more like the original oilcan and almost 3x now...

Speaking of...

 

I plan on gaming mine, does anyone have suggestions on maintaining the finish? I've heard people recommend silicon spray for Circa's, would that work for the oilcan's as well? If not, is there anything else that would in it's place?

Get silicon spray and silicon rag and you would be fine... Just wipe it down with the silicon rag after each round. Every so often spray it with the silicon.

Cameron's site quotes 45 days for turnaround on a restoration - is this accurate?

Heard a rumor it was a bit longer than that currently...

 

To me it doesn't matter, the more of these before and after pics I see, the longer I'm willing to wait. I'd rather have them take their time if they are coming out like the pics above.

Thanks for all the comments and compliments. This site is the best! In response to a few questions. I bought this putter at a reasonable price from someone who had used a process unknown to me to remove the original oil can finish. The good thing is that there were no nicks and dings on the putter.

 

I think the total for the complete refinish with custom grip, custom headcover (navy blue), custom stamp and shipping was $261.00. Would of course been less without the custom headcover and grip.

 

Turn around was almost 60 days to the day. Recevied at custom shop, 1/11 and arrived back to me on 3/9.

 

No chance to putt with it yet.
