Kinda Losing the Mojo

Recommended Posts

Mojo, that non-too distant country cousin of The Muse can be just as fleeting, but, in my experience, where The Muse requires a strict adherence to courtship guidelines (a structured time, place, routine,) to win her favor, the Racoon's p**** can sometimes be teased into appearance by thinking outside the box, or stretching the envelope. You guys do a champion job of both. A pleasure to find a resurrection of this thread upon my return to civilization.

I did not playing until I turned 50 (am 60 now), so compared to many of you I am a relative neophyte. That said, I work very hard at this game and at times I DO get discouraged, i.e., given the amount of work I put into it I think my results should be better. For example, it is 6:45 am and I am taking a short break after having practiced my short game for close to two hours (pitching, chipping, bunker...up to 90 yard). I will then do some putting and then hit the range. This is pretty much a daily routine.

So, given that, I expect to be playing better. And that I am not can sometimes be discouraging and I will question why I continue to play this game. Yet, the next morning here I am. :-)

ps: I am not a half of anything, but I am an Earthbound extraterrestrial.

Are you swinging the clubs "the way you're supposed to" or the way that works for you?
When I quit worrying about doing it the right way and experimented until I found what worked for me I became not only a better golfer but a happier one.

I am starting to lean toward the latter, with better results. :-)
