G25 IRONS

So I am a 9 Handicap, and am currently hitting Taylormade Rocketbladez Tour Irons, I love the way they feel when I hit them good, but unfortunately due to only being able to play once a week, the good shots are starting to be fewer and far inbetween, I am hitting a low ball flight and my distance is relatively low (7 Iron - 150 Yards). Would anyone recommend switching to a set of g25 Irons due to the fact that I am looking for A) Higher Ball Flight B) More Distance.

From my experience, G25's definitely hit a high ball but I'm not one that's experienced any type of distance gain from any iron recently to be honest. In the past 4-5 years I have gamed many different player/GI irons (albeit, no traditional blade types) and my 8i has always been my 150-160 club. I moved from a set of Ping i15's where my 8i was my 150-160 club and I still pull my 8i with my G25's when I need a 150-160 yard shot. Ball flight is noticeably higher with the G25's but not obnoxiously so. For what it's worth, i15's had S300's and G25's have KBS C-taper shafts in them.

I don't think anyone will be able to tell you if G25's will markedly improve your game. Like many others I'm sure, I lose the majority of my shots from around the green and from 100 yards and in, and no iron change that I've made has fixed that yet (although I've tried, over and over and over...)

G25's are certainly very stable heads with a higher launch. Distance, however, depends on how well you strike the ball. Lots of good golf can be played with 7i @ 150.

I can only suggest you go and try a fitting. I was playing the G25s and thought they were the right club for me due to high handicap and etc. Post a fitting ended up with Cally Apex with a different shaft than stock. The G25s just were not a good match for me. Can not believe what a difference getting fitted makes.
Think this process will assist you in getting exactly what you want, looking for, and help the game.

I play the G25's, which are a great iron, but they are not the longest. I demo a set of the New Karsten irons and they were longer by about 12 yrd's for me. If I were thinking of making the switch, I would look at the X2 Hot or X2 Hot Pro's.

The G series is really forgiving. I have lost a club and a 1/2 after switching irons from the G20. The forgiveness is such that you can swing faster and get more out of them. The CFS shaft is high launching so it seems the switch is something to consider.

The G25 is a good solid iron; and like others have said, is definitely high launching but not any longer. I, too, moved from i15s 6 months ago. I'm actually thinking about moving back to my i15s or to another player-type profile as I prefer a more compact appearance at address.

Had two sets and g15s prior. No difference in score. My handicap actually dropped with blades because I STUCK WITH A SINGLE SET

If you want a higher ball flight and are not necessarily crazy about distance, then go with the Amp Cells(not pro).
I was gaming them but decided to sell them in favor of the G25s..I hit both on a launch monitor and the Cobra flew higher..Tried both in similar shafts, S300, ping CFS, X100..
To be fair, the G25 flew further than the Cobras with a slightly lower flight...hence my decision to buy a set here from a WRXer..
