So here are my current sets of clubs. I've left a few clubs out (my Wishon 771 short irons, 775 2 hybrid, 870 driving iron) because my son invaded the photo shoot and it became near impossible to continue. He's so darn cute so included his 'mug shot'. He wanted to hit his golf clubs the moment this shoot was finished so off we went.

Bag #1 - Ping G25's, Ping Gorge Wedges, Nickent 3DX hybrids, R11s Driver

Bag #3 - My signature. I'm really pleased with the set-up. A 17.5* 5 wood is currently being built to take the place of my 775 2 hybrid. I'm looking for a higher ball flight.

Putters - Bettinari Big Ben, Seemore Si4, Odyssey Black #5, Wishon Smoooth #6. All are counterbalanced to some degree. This is the only spot in the bag that I'm struggling with. I don't believe I have an equipment issue, but rather a mechanic flaw that needs to be fixed through instruction and practice. Not to mention, I have no confidence standing over a 3 foot putt. It's bad. Short game lesson booked for tomorrow.

Full disclosure I'm a bit different.

6 years ago a colleague contracted breast cancer. Males on staff planned a fundraiser to demonstrate our support. We pledged to grow facial hair (starting in 'Movember')for as long as possible (winner was to recieve a pot of cash). If you trimmed your facial hair you were automatically out of the 'competition'. Everyone had dropped out by the beginning of December. I was declared the winner, but chose to grow my facial hair until the colleague returned to work. She returned at the end of April (6 months after we began the challenge).

My wife and I actually took a trip to Las Vegas in March of that year and I needed a passport. I sported this beard in a passport photo for 5 years. Let's just say that traveling across the border had been an adventure during that time. My wife was a real 'trooper' during this time period. The beard became a running joke with all my friends who nicknamed me 'Jeb'. Man life's amazing.

The following are before and after photographs taken on the night that I shaved. We chose to take a few 'mug shots' to celebrate.

I think my next purchase (when I win this challenge : ) will be a custom fit putter. I'd love to visit a qualified Edel fitter but don't have a clue where I'd travel to. I know what I like the look and feel of, but do not truly know what my proper length, lie, loft, head weight, toe hang, grip size, and head shape should be. I don't have a great deal of confidence on the greens and think a custom putter would give me some peace of mind.

I know that I don't want to continually purchase putters until I find 'the one'. I tried that approach with my irons, and although I learned a great deal about equipment and my game, I wasted a lot of money and time.

This wager has forced me to reflect on my 'hoarding'. I use the term loosely as I don't have a serious psychological issue (my wife may claim otherwise) but I do tend to hang on to 'things'. I traded in 5 clubs that I hadn't used in at least 3 years. I received $25 for each club and put that money toward a new Sun Mountain bag. I thought that was really cool.

I'm an avid 'gamer'. I have hundreds of X-box games (1st and 2nd generation). My wife is suggesting that I 'cull the herd' in order to earn some money. Maybe I'll sell the bulk of the collection and place the money into a 'rainy day putter fund'.

So many possibilities.

Before the birth of my first son I was online nearly every evening and five years later I don't even have an active X-box live account. I'm a big fan of 'first person shooters' (playing Wolfenstein: The New Order as I type this message) and RPG's. Just don't have the time to devote to 'gaming' like I used to. I've become addicted to golf : )

Oddly enough, my wife has been encouraging me to play games (she purchased a few for Father's Day) but the kids have been going to bed late and seem to be hitting the sack earlier in order to rise for early morning tee times.

Oh the sacrifices I've made ; )

I'm totally serious about this. The move to my MOI matched Wishbone has curtailed my desire to hoard irons, I'm hopeful a putter that's fit to my needs will accomplish the same goal.

Edit: Darn auto-correct, Wishbone should say Wishon.
