They are pretty awesome. Love that crisp dense feel
They do have a feel of their own that I continue to notice the more I play them.
How would you rate them in terms of forgiveness? I am looking for something with a bit more help than my blades

I would say they line up like a 714 cb or s55 with the latter being a smidge more forgiving. If forgiveness is the MO then the pp series offers some of that. With Miura clubs, I beleieve forgiveness is irrelevant as you don't want to miss that sweet feel. They do offer some help from what I saw, more than the 501. Just a well built, super solid club.
MJ can offer more insight as he has actually played his on grass

Was able to pick up a cb-57 3 iron to compliment my vegas. I really wanted a onoff forged but they are hard to come by and knowing the Miura product from playing so many of them in the past I am quite confident that the 57 will take a backseat to none..............er save the Vegas of course. ;-)
On this note perhaps someone has a new onoff 3 iron they would like to swap for this new cb-57. Just sayin. :-)
They are nearly identical to the s55 in terms of size and forgiveness imo. I was all set to get the mb001, but actually preferred the overall look of the 57's. Although the mb001 is still on my most wanted list, the 57 is unparalleled for what it is. As easy said in his thread http://www.golfwrx.com/forums/topic/1074253-miura-1957-cavity-back-iron-in-hand-and-comparison-photos/

I've probably already mentioned that in this thread, but how could you turn up a forged iron that resembles the s55.

I don't love them, as I try not to go crazy over material things, but they are "Grail" status to me.

Turf interaction has more to do with angle of attack. However, I do notice that the leading edge grind allows me to trap the ball a bit easier on various lies vs my previous cb501's. The best stock sole grind on any iron I've come across has to be the mp 64 though. Considering it is the Luke Donald grind, no need to argue.
Completely agree about the MP-64 sole grind and camber. But, the more I hold the CB 57's in my hands the more I think I'm in love. While I'd like a little more camber, the CB 57 slightly forgiving offset and the slightly blunted leading edge coupled with the sole pre-grind just behind the leading edge makes for a very technically interesting and advanced club head. Maybe someday I'll get to hit one and then I'll know. The CB 1957's make my MIURA CB 201's look like chopped liver.
I still see the 201's around. Miura ages nicely my friend.

But, yeah the more I play the 57 the more I like them.

I played the 501's for 2 + years, and forsee the 57's getting longer playing time than that.

What type of handicap are these geared towards, single digits?
None of Miura irons are specifically geared towards hdcp brackets.

Miura himself is a 15 hdcp and plays baby blades, so if you want them get them.

Don't psyche yourself out with the hdcp bracket marketing approach.

I understand the rationale of not caring about HDCP. But, I don't necessary agree with playing blades with high HDCP. You probably enjoy the game more by playing more forgiving irons with some feedback, like CBs.
I agree, I play payer cb's because I prefer a beefier looking head in the mid irons. I'm a fan of blades, and think everyone should experience that allure at least once in their golfing life. As far as whether or not to blade or not to blade, I think the individual golfer has their own individual right to decide that for themselves.

Hit these, very nice, Japan KJ version seems even better.
KJ is the 501. It's the same head as regular 501 just a set built to "his" specs. And there all Japan, just the branding is different depending on which consumer market.

There's a Japan version of these that he consulted on Miura Giken cb 1007 Y grind.

I'm misinformed, apologies. I thought you referencing a 501 KJ Japan version. The 57 is subtly different from the 1007. There is a cb 1007 and a cb 1007 Y which had input from KJ.

I am really considering selling my Vegas and hunting for these toward the end of this year. In reality, these and the BB would be an awesome 2 set getup, and I imagine I could combo them with the bb in pw-6/7 and cbs in lower irons......

I really like the sound of that now that I think about it more. How much longer are they next to a BB? The BB have kinda ruined me on my Vegas, the just look too long, they kinda make most irons look not right actually.....

The flow between these and the BB's just wouldn't work for me. Too much of a size difference ( there's really no flow at all, it's too extreme). The mb001 and cb 57 make a good combo as they have more similarities with size and sole grind.

Thanks!

That wasn't the main point (combo) of me thinking 57 cbs, but once it popped in my head it sounded good hahaha. Like the perfect 2 sets, awesome blades, awesome cbs and awesome combo!

Dude, I can't hit my BBs at the range and then switch to my vega blades without being messed up some. Comboing them with something like that in an actual round would be a nightmare. Ok, good to know.

I spoke with my local Miura dealer about the CB57's and getting a fitting set up in the spring and I have to say I was a little shocked by the $ 275 per club price tag he quoted me. I think I'm going to have to consider the Miura Giken offerings and have them built by my guy.

Thats pretty standard with fit from what I have seen. IMO, the extra money is well spent. I cannot say enough about these irons. I still have winter swing and on a monitor and I was getting exceptional numbers. The look at address is spectacular, the feel is precise, the feedback is perfect. My jailhouse golf season calendar looks better everyday from this point in winter. Super pumped to get these on course.
