There's no Rory putter in that photo. The one's at the top are 001's (like Tiger's).

Never stripped irons before, would it be just some old fashioned acetone or paint thinner for the paint?

That modern muscle area stiffens the frequency of the high toe.

It just hit me. I didn't like the look of the VRS forged when I first saw them. But they work. Didn't want a red driver til I played it. I'm giving the Combo set a try looks be damned.

It looks good overall. Not the ugliest thing out there. The simple look of the mm protos was/is gorgeous and plenty of purist out there that will prefer that cosmetic look. But there is many out there that will think these r the best looking ever also. On a side note I think the black is purely cosmetic for the fact that the volt swoosh would not stand out as much with out it.

I dunno what all the fuss is about. Not at all a bad looking line up, and they went with a color that is popular right now. Again if they look good at address who really gives a rip.

The black will be an industrial process much like cameron black putters from last year. You won't be stripping it with acetone. The word "VAPOR" is laster etched into the black. You don't to that to a painted surface.

Pre-Order October tenth for a late October delivery. Pass. Too much good stuff from Callaway and Mizuno will be out before then.

Paint stripper still strips paint.

The question is whether the black is just paint. My bet is no.

Most likely nothing. I would bet that they are identical at address and performance wise. People were in love with the MM protos, and now hate these because of a paint job. Nike is not going after the 'traditionalists' who make up a small section of the market with these. I like that they are pushing the boundaries, I don't want to see another set similar to mizzy or titleist forged blades that's been released 5 times already.

They talk about using a tungsten toe weight to get the CG away from the heel toward the center of the face. That makes me wonder if blade CG is still heel biased, even in 2014.

You guys are crazy. Nike by far is setting the bar when it comes to club design. When they started people didn't like the new fad golf clubs. But numbers do not lie, consistently the clubs are faster and longer. If you download the vapor club spec sheet it's pages 27-31 so obviously they will have new woods.

I'll get over the look, but preferred the MM's. I'm thinking I'll sandblast the black "insert" part if necessary and if possible. I'll def get rid of the neon swoosh with some acetone though

I'm of the same opinion. I didn't like the red a first but the tech in the head changed my mind. Same with the Covert Forged, my 2011 Pro Combos would never be beaten, until I hit the CF and I was sold immediately. I like the green, the black will grow on me but it doesn't make one iota of difference when I'm hitting the ball. I'm in, I like them and the direction they're going.
Also, as if they'd release a "limited edition" iron and a week or so later release the exact thing to retail??
