From the main article posted.....

The Vapor Speed irons utilize face-centered weighting that’s consistently low and forward throughout the set for a higher launch. The long irons (3-7) have hollow cavity backs are reinforced with a “FlyBeam” behind the face for forgiveness, while the 8-SW short irons have RZN cavity backs. The irons will have a moderate sole width and X3X milled grooves on the face.
They will be available in 3-SW for both right and left handed players, and come stock with a True Temper Dynalite 105 for men and an MRC Fubuki Z 70 shaft for women. They carry an MSRP of $959.99 with steel shafts and $1,799.99 with graphite.

Who's gonna pay $1,800 for these?

But Nike has introduced irons that have the attributes that other club makers have been doing for 25 years--including Nike.

Pretty lame that they can only come up with something so boring to promote--It is like GM coming out and saying that this years big innovation is that this years cars come standard with an automatic transmission and air conditioning.
that another company has used before?
Unlike a GM product, pretty sure these irons won't kill you.

Are the pro combos similar to last year's covert forged? The CF 2.0 were a little GI like, and the pro combos seem a little more on the players side. Are they forgiving enough?
I've been browsing the thread, but I can't seem to find the answer.

Why are the asian edition of sticks always so much sexier more often than not?
Because for some odd reason several golf companies in the US market clubs that appeal to 14 year olds. Even though they don't have the money to pay a G for a set of irons...

This

The mmprotos got "nike-ized" and "vaporized" .. that's a lotta pizazz they got going on with these irons .. if i had a set of the protos i'd be sitting back with a big smile on my face

As I walked around my store yesterday I had a thought about the color pattern of the Vapors. I think it has already been mentioned about the black and volt possibly being about TV visibility. Also think shelf appeal. Companies have gone to brighter colors in recent years to grab your attention. Look what white did for TM. If you saw a white driver you immediately thought "that's a TM driver" (even when Poulter was hitting the white Cobra).

The black and volt on the irons are gonna scream at you from the iron racks. It's gonna be easy to differentiate on tv. I'm beginning to think the color pattern is a very smart move.

Pretty sure $1800 is wrong. Usually graphite runs ~$100-$200 more than steel.

Actually, I see it was changed to $1059.99 in the original post.

This is a great review, thank you. I am looking forward to the new fitting experience to really dial in the gaps on a mixed set. I assume demos and fitting will not be ready for preorder??

A colleague of mine in my company who is a member at Liberty National just emailed me that Rory just joined the club. Probably a gifted membership but still. Pretty cool that he's a member there now.

Are those Tigers clubs in the bag next to him?
No but that's actually NOT the same video. Tiger spoke to US media first, then Canada second. I'm sure there are similarities.

Those are NOT TW's protos. Only a stock set.

Call me a skeptic but I am not sold on videos like this. Talking about a millimeter here and a gram or 2 there just does not sound credible to me. Even for such a talented player as Tiger. Sitting there talking about the collaboration between a "master craftsman and the best iron player of all time" just comes off as stroking their collective egos.
That Tiger can get his irons perfected when they feel "just a little off" bears no relevance to the clubs they would put in our hands.
This whole talk around the circle lacks credibility if you asks me and just comes off as more dishonest marketing.

Yeah cute add.
Seriously though I am not really a traditionalist nor a disbeliever in the benefits to golfers of continuing research and development.
My previous comment was all about my genuine reaction to a feeling of being conned when these people go on about this micro precision stuff and the concept that Nike and Tiger do it better than anyone else because of their unparalleled expertise in club design and manufacture.
As I said it just comes off as a mutual admiration society and not a valid reason to put Nike gear above all others.
BTW I like most Nike irons.

Ha just having a bit of fun. There are some stories with Tiger's legendary ability to 'feel' things others cannot. We probably have all heard a version of the bubble under the grip story too. I can say that Hank Haney POST SPLIT from Tiger told me and several WRX members that Tiger is the best ball striker ever. Best hands ever. He can do things with a golf club that others can't. Sense things that others can't. Listen to how he talks about his clubs and growing up with persimmon and blades. Pretty cool.

Think of a highlight reel of recovery shots to win tournaments. How many could you put on it for Tiger? 30 perhaps? More? Tiger won shaping the ball. Knowing what he can do with the club, ball, lie and target. He won on days and weeks with his "B game" or worse. Best hands and best feel ever IMO. No offense to Rory at all, but he runs away with tournaments. When he's on, he goes wire to wire like a machine. I don't know if I can remember a recovery shot off the top of my head, yet with Tiger I can probably reel off 10 or so. Rory has such a good swing though. Simply amazing to watch it in person.

You say that but I can tell the difference in a few mm and weight if I'm turning something on the lathe for a vehicle, or if I've made something by hand like a crossmember or exhaust manifold I can tell if its out slightly even if its not by a huge degree

Probably not 1g in weight but a 10 or so thou can be spotted easily enough if you know what you're looking for
