VPC - Head is bigger, toppling is a touch thicker and the sole is wider. You also have to notice how the weight distribution of the muscle is different. More weight in the toe of the Vapor Pro. I chose the Pro model for the smaller, compact, thinner sole and top line head design.

Lesmond, are you still happy with where you decided to transition from VP/MM Proto to VPC?

Also, anyone that has a combo set of VP and VPC feel free to comment. On where you switched over and the performance of the VP short irons.

Considering a combo set myself. But trying to determine where to make the switch. VPC 4-7 and VP 8-P is what I'm currently thinking. But still haven't had the chance to do more than look at the irons. They both look pretty damn good..

Have vp 8-pw and vpc 7-4 iron. For me the short irons with less offset and a thinner sole were perfect. Could possibly have gone through the 7 with the pro but why not add forgiveness and a higher ball flight? I am happy with my decision so far.

I've spent two range sessions with both sets hitting each iron through both sets and alternating. The clear separation for me is at the 6 iron , much easier with the VPC. 7 iron in the pro is easy enough to hit.

Same here. I can handle 7-PW in pro blade. But 4-6. I couldn't hit it well in the blade.

Best choice I made was getting those in a cavity back/more forgiving set. Will play again tomorrow the set and I can't wait.

If you want to mix and match the Vapor irons, that'll be perfect for every level of golfer.

We're getting this Japan spec vapor pros which comes in a different color scheme. I personally can't decide whether the U.S color scheme or this one looks nicer, so I haven't gotten around to making a purchase decision heh.

I feel as if 7 iron is a good place to make the transition to VPC. Now that's only my opinion but it seems to be a favorite "point of transition" for a lot of GolfWRXers.

Great feedback on combo sets. I was basing my plan on the old VR combo sets, which had blade in 8-P. I will be coming from Covert Forged (old Pro Combos before that). Great irons, but the short irons are way too big. You cannot do anything but hit them high and straight. So I'm looking forward to getting back something more playable in the short irons.

Need the fitting carts now!! Come on Nike!!

We are finally getting our demo iron sets in tomorrow. We had the full fitting cart last year, but was told that we probably wouldn't see it this year due to cutting the carts back.

Sets/select wood pcs were our only options. I've heard that for cart iron heads might be avail in the spring, but no guarantees.

Is this your shop's doing or is this from Nike? I thought when you guys went out there, a big push they were making was fitting. Which would be AWESOME.

I was at PGASS the other day and asked if they had any demos in. Like J13 mentioned above, all the guy could do was plaster packing tape on the head. You could tell he was less than impressed that was his option, and it seemed like there were quite a few people asking for them and they couldn't do any better than that.

I would expect less fitting options for smaller accounts like Srixon (which I also want to test) but a company like Nike should have the full monty out there.

They are really hamstringing the salesmen at golf shops. Makes no sense not to have fitting carts for months after a release.

Not our choice. We were ticked off. We had our best year with Nike last year and the fitting cart had a lot to do with it.

And I was one of the two left behind this year, so I can't really speak for what was said on the trip. I saw some of what was written and that's all. I think that the new fitting cart will be awesome, just not everyone is getting one. We were still battling with our rep on this, trying to find a few options. The demo irons did come in yesterday, so at least I can let those clubs be hit without tape. But shafts are what they are. No options and it sucks.
