True Temper's new "AMT" Dynamic Gold iron shafts

I would definitely do softstepping once cause I don't want 133g shaft in my pitching wedge. If I want a 3 iron shaft, dynamic gold SL X100 40.5 inch will be perfect match as it is 109 grams.

TM SLDR 430 9 Speeder TS 7.2 stiff (no tipping, 44.75 inch, upright setting, D4)
TM M1 430 8,5 Kurokage XT 70 X (no tipping, 44.5 inch, -0.5 lower, D4.5)
TM SLDR fairway 15 Speeder TS 8.2 stiff (0.5 tipping, 42.5 inch, +0.5 higher setting, D3)
TM M1 fairway 15 Kurokage XT 80 X (0.5 tipping, 42.5 inch, standard setting, D3)
TM SLDR hybrid 19 Speeder 9.8 stiff (1 inch tipping, 40.25 inch, standard setting, D3)
TM M1 hybrid 19 Kurokage silver tini 90 TX (no tipping, 40.25 inch, -0.5 lower setting, D3)
Mizuno MP-H4 3 iron DG AMT X100 (39.25 inch 1 degree weak, D3.5)
Mizuno MP-69 5-9 (5 iron 1 degree strong, +0.25 length, DG AMT X100 ss 1x, D3.5)
Vokey SM6 46-08F, 50-08F, 54-08M, 58-08M (+0.25 length, DG AMT X100, D4-D6)
Ping Redwood Anser 34 inch with superstroke slim 2.0 grip (355g head weight, D7 swing weight)

Why? S400s are 133g and the most popular wedge shaft on tour.

He bought X100, and wants the wedge shaft approx 130g. His pw shaft is a little porky.

Don... would these be a good option if you were one who normally soft stepped shafts to get a bit more flight in the irons?
This will perform just like DG would if you soft stepped them. If you are looking for more height than that I would look at XP115.

Thats what I thought. These will be an easy replacement for my X100's that are soft stepped. The excitement has begun... Thanks Don

Don

Are you saying the S400 AMT will perform similar to a soft stepped DG X100?

I fit perfectly in the 7-PW with DG but struggle with the launch on the 4-6.

I believe what he is saying is that these will perform similar to an X100 if it was soft stepped but no need to soft step, thus if you have the S400 in AMT it will perform like a DG S400 if soft stepped.

S400 AMT will perform just like DG S400. If it's a little low you could soft step, but if you need a lot more launch you would likely want to look at something like DG Pro.

Don
I have a question. I am coming from the dynamic gold CPT X100 soft-stepping (125 gram shaft, 40 inch for 4 iron and 37 inch for pitching wedge). I have always wanted shorter irons to be heavier and longer irons lighter. I don't like the counterbalance design as well. I like the flight and the spin rate with this setting, though lower launch and lesser spin is preferred. What would you recommend the installation for the AMT shaft, soft stepping once or twice? I am using dynamic gold X100 for 48 wedge and DG spinner plus for 54, 60 wedges.

Don,
I have a question. What will be the case when an amateur has a 5 iron shaft break in these? Will it be able to be easily replaced even though all the shafts weigh something different??

Luke-

You'll be able to buy a replacement AMT 5 iron shaft, same as if you broke a shaft from any other line.

Don - when these come retail, will there be a 2-iron shaft offered? If so, will it also be available in the Tour Issue AMT version?
I have the same question -- the various TT texts only reference that there is a 3-gram drop from the PW to the 3-iron. Is there also another 3-gram drop for the 2-iron (e.g. 109 -> 106 grams)? I am one golfer that still plays long irons, sometimes soft-stepping (x1) them, thus having that option is important. Thanks in advance....

We are still sorting out when these will be available and it what formats (TI vs Std).

There is a 40.5" part that does weight 3 grams less than the 40" 3 iron.

I really hope you release these in a tour issue with super tight weight tolerances. Can u comment on what the tour guys are playing? Are the weight sorted and matched like the DGTI or is that not as important given the asending weight?

They do have tight weight tolerances as DGTI shafts do. I found the weight ranges are +/- 0.5 grams.
