Glad to help! Did you end up using the Mini much? How did it perform?

Colbert Hills can be quirky. Yesterday, I could have easily hit driver only twice ... or 12 times, if I wanted.

The mini was a champ on the range. I used it on #3 day one, #7 day 2 twice (2nd shots, one lost ball) and hit 3 high block fades. 2 of the 3 stayed in play, but I had zero confidence in it. Made the decision to hit driver as much as I could...hybrid the rest. Luckily the driver was working well and I could work a big cut when necessary.

It'll get a makeover with a proper shaft and grip. I actually have a 14* and a 16*, both have stiff shafts that are too light. I play X and heavy...my [s]current [/s]old 3 wood had a 95g X in it.

I don't even know what to say about this post. The answer is driver on every hole. You should be hitting driver so much that sometimes you accidentally pull driver on par 3s. I haven't hit a fairway wood since before we played at swope.

I think it is a great track with just 1-2 bad holes, #4 and maybe #14. Other than that, I think it is exceptional. The greens were in fantastic shape, pure and fast. Barring any more rain, the rest of the course should be great by this weekend, too.

Have to agree with you about #4. Blind tee shot and a fairway that ends and you cannot see it, if I remember right.

Sorry I am so late in getting back on this thread. I have had a lot going on. Pulling out of the parking lot, my camshaft sensor went out, and it was a PITA to fix. Ugh.


Enjoyed the round and meeting everyone. My game was terribly rusty, but it was a beautiful day.

On another note, I got my first ace on Memorial Day. Woohoo.

i know its January, and we may get to play this weekend, but is anyone up for doing this or something similar this coming year? I was thinking maybe a GolfWRX Tour type thing... Maybe through it some match play. Just throwing out some ideas this morning.

How about Falcon Lakes again? I thought that was a good track for all levels and a nice bar/patio to hang out after.
