Coincidental that you started this thread. Have been thinking about picking up a couple of old bags, if for no other reason than club storage. Surfing Craigslist yesterday morning and saw a estate/garage sale listing (last day, everything's gotta go) that had some pics of clubs and bags. Since it was nearby and had some errands to run, thought I'd go check it out. Never expect much with these sort of listings. Pleasantly surprised. Found two nice Burton bags that have that "right look". A little dusty and in need of a good cleaning, but otherwise in pretty good shape with straps, working zippers and rain cover. Plus an added bonus of a Wilson Staff 1 iron that matches a set of irons that I already have. No, I can't hit a 1 iron (or a 2 and 3).........but may try it.......once. All for $20. Just never know what one finds if you look around a bit.

Geez, better a dumpster than throwing them in a pond! Something smells, pun intended, perhaps someone's five finger discount that went fishy? I can't wrap my head around the "why" they would be in a dumpster. But, good find non the less.

Dang Blade Junkie!! Jealous of that Spalding bag!! I have a Maxfli like yours and used it for a few years. It held 12+ dozen golf balls and I went through 3 pull carts from the weight!

Cheers guys - the only downside with finding some bargain vintage bags in great condition is that now I want/need the matching clubs to go in them .. so on the look out for some Maxfli Australian Blades (got to be the TM-92s given Tad's presence on the board!) and some Slazenger SB-02s for the "Seve" bag.

Incurable ... sad isn't it ... lol ...

My TM-92's were reasonable (~$100 US), but also beat up quite badly. Saw a virtually new set of tour level Tad's blades (TM-1?) on the bay for about $600 with Loomis shafts. Maybe they'll pop up again?

I only "collect" clubs if I find ones I like that are new and un-hit, at a good price

Everything else is bought to be played, but I still look for good quality sets without much play, though only at a good price

That's why I haven't taken my Ram bag out on the course. Just not enough pockets.

If those Ram bags don't have enough pockets, maybe you carrying to much stuff. Just say'in.

My Burton bag for the classic set. Leather (?) and black. The fabric is a little faded but can't be complaining for $10.

That is exactly like the last staff bag my old man had. A lifelong friend of his had switched to sales rep for Ram and gave him that bag a year or so before he retired. But he never played Ram equipment except briefly a Zebra putter. I used that bag for years until it literally fell apart. Thanks for posting some pleasant memories for me

Randy That is a great bag! It was actually high dollar back in the day actually more expensive than a Mac staff bag at the time. Yours seems to be in excellent shape for it's age. I think if my fading memory serves me right it was marketed as the Macgregor Country Club Series
